It was proposed , seconded , and carried unanimously , that a cordial vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes for the able manner in which Bro . Frost , P . M ., had presided over the lodge in working the Fifteen Sections . All Masonic business being ended , the lodge was closed .

HOLLOWAY ' S PILLS . —NO Mystery . —Whenever the blood is impure or the general health is impaired tne hnman body is predisposed to attacks of any prevailing epidemic . The first indication of faulty action , the first sensation of deranged or diminished power should be rectiffed by these purifying Pills , which will cleanse all corrupt and reduce all erring functions to order . These Pills

counteract the subtle poisons in decaying animal or vegetable matter , and remove all tendency to bowel complaints , biliousness , and a host of annoying symptoms arising from foul stomachs . WHITTINGTON CHAPTER ( No . 862 ) . — The companions of this chapter met in convocation at the chapter rooms , Anderton's Hotel , on Monday , the g'h inst ., when there were present Comps . Tate , M . E . Z . ; Marston , P . Z . ; Higgins , P . Z . ; Cuff , P . Z . ; Weaver , S . E . ; Brown , H . ; Collinson , J . ; Fisher , S . N . ; Gates , P . S . ; Dehane , 2 nd A . S . ; Thompson , and others .

The M . E . Z ., Comp . Tate , owing to illness of a serious nature , although First Principal since last November , had not been installed . At this meeting , therefore , the honour of installation was conferred upon him ; the ceremony being admirably performed by his predecessor , Comp . Marston . Subsequently the officers for the ensuing year were elected , the following being the result : Comps . 'J . S .

Brown , M . h .. / ,. ; J , Collinson , H . ; Fisher , J . ; J . Weaver , S . E . ; Gates , S . N . ; Irvine , P . S . ; H . Dehane , ist A . S . ; Larchin , 2 nd A . S . ; and Gilbert , Janitor . Owing to unavoidable circumstances , a candidate announced as for exaltation , was unable to be present . The chapter was then adjourned until November . At the banquet which followed , the M . E . Z . explained the

cause of his being so much absent of late , and elicited very kind expressions of regret from the companions present . The companions were profuse in their thanks to Comps . Matston and Higgins for the self-sacrificing way in which they had promoted the welfare of the chapter . Comps . Brown and Collinson expressed their thanks for the honour conferred upon them in the matter of advancement , and

convinced the companions present that in every respect they vvould discharge their duties with the utmost efficiency . The rest of the officers taking tone from them , were enthusiastic in replying to the toasts which referred individually to them . There are some good workers in the chapter , and it is at the present time in the most robust state of Masonic health . Comp . Dehane reminded the companions of the facilities afforded for Masonic students by the Hornsey

Chapter of Improvement , of which he is S . E . During the evening , the usual plan was followed of making the proceedings pleasant by the musical efforts of some of the companions . Comp . Marston was particularly artistic , and Comps . Gates and Thompson distinguished themselves . Some of the companions who would have been present tvere kept aivay by festivities at the Mansion House .

ALDERSGATE CHAPTER ( No . 1657 ) . —The May convocation of the above chapter vvas held on Monday last , at the Albion Tavern , Aldersgate-street , when there were present Comps . Adair , Grand Superintendent of the province , was unanimously elected an honorary member of the chapter , to which formerly he had belonged . Bro , Rev . the Hon . Sidney Meade was then balloted for , and the ballot proving unanimous , and Bro . Meade being in attendance , he was

ably exalted to the Supreme Degree by the M . E . Z . The sanction of Grand Chapter for a confirmatory charter having been notified to the companions , the original one being lost , the chapter was closed , and the companions adjourned to supper at the Castle Hotel . Owing to unavoidable circumstances , a candidate announced as for exaltation , was unable to be present . The chapter was then adjourned until November . At the banquet which followed , the M . E . Z . explained the

cause of his being so much absent of late , and elicited very kind expressions of regret from the companions present . The companions were profuse in their thanks to Comps . Matston and Higgins for the self-sacrificing way in which they had promoted the welfare of the chapter . Comps . Brown and Collinson expressed their thanks for the honour conferred upon them in the matter of advancement , and

convinced the companions present that in every respect they vvould discharge their duties with the utmost efficiency . The rest of the officers taking tone from them , were enthusiastic in replying to the toasts which referred individually to them . There are some good workers in the chapter , and it is at the present time in the most robust state of Masonic health . Comp . Dehane reminded the companions of the facilities afforded for Masonic students by the Hornsey

Chapter of Improvement , of which he is S . E . During the evening , the usual plan was followed of making the proceedings pleasant by the musical efforts of some of the companions . Comp . Marston was particularly artistic , and Comps . Gates and Thompson distinguished themselves . Some of the companions who would have been present tvere kept aivay by festivities at the Mansion House .

Adair , Grand Superintendent of the province , was unanimously elected an honorary member of the chapter , to which formerly he had belonged . Bro , Rev . the Hon . Sidney Meade was then balloted for , and the ballot proving unanimous , and Bro . Meade being in attendance , he was

ably exalted to the Supreme Degree by the M . E . Z . The sanction of Grand Chapter for a confirmatory charter having been notified to the companions , the original one being lost , the chapter was closed , and the companions adjourned to supper at the Castle Hotel .
