GREAT PYRAMID MASONRY . To the Editor of the " Freemason . " Dear Sir and Brother , Permit me to recall to your mind articles on " Great Pyramid Masonry " I contributed to " Masonic Magazine" in 1878 , and in connection with this subject to ask if you know a series of Masonic engravings puohshed in London 1787-89 , engraved by P . Master of Lodge No . 53 . They are beautifully engraved , and are particularly interesting in connection with Great Pyiamid Masonry , as in three of them ( there are six engravings—three pairs of various sizes ) I find illustrations of Great Pyramid symbolism ot the most unmistakeable character . Can you tell me what is known of Lambert i His London publisher ' s address was Cobham-row , Coldbath Fields ; but he is described as of Rouen and of Lintot . — Yours truly , WM . ROWBOTTOM , P . We trust that this new departure may be the means of making the lodge more popular and attractive .

Lodge vvas opened , and Bro . H . C . Stevens having been passed to the Second Degree , the W . M . vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Bolton , P . M ., who proceeded with the installation ceremony , Bro . W . Vail , W . M . elect , being duly installed into the chair of K . S ., and afterwards invested his officers as follows : Bros . The lodge having been closed in due form , the brethren adjourned to a recherche banquet , served in Bro . Fred

Morgan's usually excellent manner . After dinner , the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed by the W . Master , and honoured by the brethren present . The toast of " The R . W . the Grand the Pro and Deputy Grand Masters , and the rest of the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " vvas given by the W .. / 1 ., who expressed his opinion that the Grand Officers vvere worthy of the high

offices respectively held by them , and that , as they took so much interest in their duties , and carried them out so satisfactorily , he trusted they might long be spared to continue to render that good service in the future as they had in the past . The Worshipful Master then , in felicitous terms , proposed "The Health of the Visitors , " coupling with it the names of Bros . Dilley , jun ., G . Skudder , E . Eagle , and W . Martin .

'lhese brethren having responded , the I . P . M . proceeded to propose the toast of "The Worshipful Master , " saying the choice of the brethren had fallen upon a very worthy Mason in Bro . Vail , and by his work in the past they had an assurance that the credit of the Excelsior Lodge vvould be maintained , and he concluded by wishing the Worshipful Master a prosperous and happy year ot office .

The Worshipful Master , in reply , thanked the brethren for the hearty and spontaneous manner in which his health had been given and received , and he trusted , by a diligent attention to the duties as Master of the lodge , he would still maintain the kind feelings of the brethren , and incompetent as he lelt himself to discharge the duties , looking back to the good work done by his predecessors , still he

would not permit himself to be excused , but would give every possible attention to the work devolving upon him , so that the lodge might | by his efforts lose none of its lustre . The Worshipful Master then presented Bro . H . T . Fryer , I . P . M ., with a handsome P . M . 's jewel , in the name of ihe lodge , and in recognition of the vamable services

rendered by him as its Master during the past year . The toast of " Bro . Fryer's Health" having been given , received , and responded to , The Worshipful Master proceeded to propose the remaining toasts— "The Past Masters " and " lhe Officers of the

Lodge "—after which the Tyler ' s toast brought to a close the proceedings of a very pleasant evening . The evening vvas spent most harmoniously ; choice songs and glees vvere ably rendered by Bros . Albert James , H . W . Scliartau , G . S . Carter , and W . E . Dilley , jun-., who had charge of the musical arrangements .

would not permit himself to be excused , but would give every possible attention to the work devolving upon him , so that the lodge might | by his efforts lose none of its lustre .
