Many of their guests were from the Dobie Lodge , of which he was a founder , and he need hardlv say that they were all welcome . Bro . Wilkinson coupled with the toast the names of Bros . G . R . Scott , P . M . SSo ; Major Dubeily , S . T . Baker , W . M . 1892 ; N . H . Cridland , P . M . 215 S ; and VV . Drewett , P . P . G . Std . Br . Bro . G . R . Scott , P . M ., acknowledged the toast , thanking them fronfthe bottom of his heart for associating his name with the toast . He was Preceptor of the lodge of instruction connected with the lodge , and he was always glad to do anything in that

The above old and honourable lodge held its installation m * eting on Monday , the ioth inst ., at the Royal Mortar Hotel , opposite the Woolwich Arsenal Gates in Beresford-squarc , when Bro . J . O . Cook , S . W . and VV . M . elect , was instilled M . M , lor the ensuing twelve months . The lodge was opened in ancient form , and Bo ; . Capt . G . Fishenden , l . P . M . 7 t 6 , and C . Ket'ey , 7 cO , were balloted for and approved of . Bro . Fishenden being in

attendance , was , after examination , adoiitted , and in due course was advanced to the hcn ^ iuable Degree of a Mark Master Mason , the ceremony being splendidly worked by the VV . M ., Bro . Dr . Bryceson , M . D ., P . G . M . O . Bro . J . O . Cook was then presented to Ihe VV . "lhe addresses were impressively given by the Installing Officer , for which , and his excellent working of the whole ritual , he was awarded a hearty vote of thanks , the same to be inscribed on the minutes of the lodge , and also presented with a handsom ; Past Mark Master ' s jewel , to mark theesteemof the brethren and for many valuable services rendered by him to the lodge . After "Hearty good wishes" had been tendered by the visitors present , among whom were B * os . C Jolli / , P . M . 225 , P . P . G . D . ; G . Porter , VV . M . 22 G ; C Canning , S . W . 22 G ; H . The banquet was partaken of in the grand saloon of the establishment , and wis remarkable for its perfect adaptation to the wants of real gooi judges of the em ' siuc .

Bryceson , who , in reply , could only say that he felt it a very great honour that had been conferred upon him by their esteemed Prov . G . M ., the Rt . Hon . Viscount Dungarvan . So tar as the installali-m ceremony was concerned , as their l . P . M , had incorporated the toast of " The Installing Ollicer" with the Provincial Officers , he was

pl » ased to be able to do the work . I brough the absence of Bro . Nichols , P . M ., they were robbed of the splendid work that excellent brother always put in when he did the installation . He ( Bro . Bryceson ) , however , felt it to be the duty of every Mister to instal his successor , and so had prepared himself to do the work . For their kind expressions he thanked them , and for coupling his name with the toast of the Prov . Grand Officers .

Bros . Mitchell and C . Jolly also briefly responded . Bro . Biycison , l . P . M ., then proposed the toast of "The W . M . " He knew it wouldbewell received because they knew that their W . M . was not only willing but ready to do the work required of him in the discharge of his important duties , but his genial bonhomie when at the social board would , a * it had in their Craft lodge , make the time pass in a most delightful manner . He asked them to lill their glasses "bumpers , " and drink their W . M . ' s heakh right heartily .

The W . M ., in response , said his first duty was to thank them all for the cordial reception they had given the toast . He should endeavour to work the Degree to lhe best of his ability ; and at the festive baird make them all as comfortabb and as happy as possible . He then , in his best manner , introduced one or t . vo most laughable anecdotes , and concluded by again thanking them most heartily .

Ihe W . M . then prcposed the toast of "lhe Past Masters regretting that their ¦ " urr . leis were " getting small and beautifully less . " One was at Folkestone , another i * i Margate , and some , he was sorry to say , had gone ovir to thc majority . They hid " ^ . and still had , some excellent Past Masters , and he wou'd now couple the toast lv | lh the name of Bro . Taj lor .

} ixo . Taylor , in returning thanks , said their W . M . had already lo ' . d them of the 'Writs of the Past Masters and of the falling off in their attendance and their nu nbers . Ifirse , howivcr , who were privileged to be present , and many of those who were unable ' torn causes ouer whieh they had no control , were both loyal an-l true to the lodge and lts u- lfarr , and would support the W . M . by every means in their power . On behalf "I th ,- Past Masters , he thanked them for their reception ol the toast .

His lordship was to be installed at Colchester by Bro . the Earl of F . uston , Pro G . Master , on Wednesday , the 24 th prox ., on which occasion it was hoped there would be a large gathering of Mark Mas in 1 * . Almost the first official act of Lord Warwick after his installation would be to preside at the annual Festival of the Mark Benevolent Fund , and the Secretary made an earnest appeal to the brethren to contribute to the fund . As a result nearly £ 30 was subscribed before the proceedings closed .

So tar as the installali-m ceremony was concerned , as their l . P . M , had incorporated the toast of " The Installing Ollicer" with the Provincial Officers , he was

pl » ased to be able to do the work . I brough the absence of Bro . Nichols , P . M ., they were robbed of the splendid work that excellent brother always put in when he did the installation . He ( Bro . Bryceson ) , however , felt it to be the duty of every Mister to instal his successor , and so had prepared himself to do the work . For their kind expressions he thanked them , and for coupling his name with the toast of the Prov . Grand Officers .

Bros . Mitchell and C . Jolly also briefly responded . Bro . Biycison , l . P . M ., then proposed the toast of "The W . M . " He knew it wouldbewell received because they knew that their W . M . was not only willing but ready to do the work required of him in the discharge of his important duties , but his genial bonhomie when at the social board would , a * it had in their Craft lodge , make the time pass in a most delightful manner . He asked them to lill their glasses "bumpers , " and drink their W . M . ' s heakh right heartily .

The W . M ., in response , said his first duty was to thank them all for the cordial reception they had given the toast . He should endeavour to work the Degree to lhe best of his ability ; and at the festive baird make them all as comfortabb and as happy as possible . He then , in his best manner , introduced one or t . vo most laughable anecdotes , and concluded by again thanking them most heartily .

Ihe W . M . then prcposed the toast of "lhe Past Masters regretting that their ¦ " urr . leis were " getting small and beautifully less . " One was at Folkestone , another i * i Margate , and some , he was sorry to say , had gone ovir to thc majority . They hid " ^ . and still had , some excellent Past Masters , and he wou'd now couple the toast lv | lh the name of Bro . Taj lor .

} ixo . Taylor , in returning thanks , said their W . M . had already lo ' . d them of the 'Writs of the Past Masters and of the falling off in their attendance and their nu nbers . Ifirse , howivcr , who were privileged to be present , and many of those who were unable ' torn causes ouer whieh they had no control , were both loyal an-l true to the lodge and lts u- lfarr , and would support the W . M . by every means in their power . On behalf "I th ,- Past Masters , he thanked them for their reception ol the toast .

Lodges of Essex into a separate province had been granted , and Bro . the Eirl of Warwick hail been appointed Pro / . G . Master . His lordship was to be installed at Colchester by Bro . the Earl of F . uston , Pro G . Master , on Wednesday , the 24 th prox ., on which occasion it was hoped there would be a large gathering of Mark Mas in 1 * . Almost the first official act of Lord Warwick after his installation would be to preside at the annual Festival of the Mark Benevolent Fund , and the Secretary made an earnest appeal to the brethren to contribute to the fund . As a result nearly £ 30 was subscribed before the proceedings closed .
