and especial and constitution generally , as will render the use of these effectual remedies highly necessary , for they will find in them a ready and safe means of relief in most of the diseases which afflict the human race , and with them at hand they may be said to have a physician always at iheir call . —ADVT .

The Duchess of Albany has consented to present the successful students of the Birkbeck Scientific and Literary Institution , Chancery-lane , with their prizes on the 22 nd November next . An amusing incident occurred in Dover on the 13 th inst . Mr . H . B . Conway ' s English Comedy Company had been announced to appear that evening , but owing to

the lateness of the tram , they did not arrive till close on the time fixed for the performance to begin , and then they discovered that their dresses had not arrived . However , as there was a numerous and fashionable audience gathered in the Town Hall , Mr . Conway had no option but to appear and explain the difficulty , giving the audience the option of witnessing their performance as they were or

wait till the following evening . The audience chose the former alternative , and " She Stoops to Conquer" was thereupon performed , some of the gentlemen being attired in flannels . There was a good deal of amusement over the mishap . On Tuesday , a grand banquet was held in the Tontine Hotel , Ironbridge , in connection with the Provincial

Grand Lodge of Shropshire . The R . W . Bro . Sir Offley Wakeman , Bart ., Prov . G . M ., presided , and there was a large attendance . We have authority for stating that . there is about to be established in the suburb of Fairfield another Masonic lodge . This will be a great boon to the Masonic brethren resident in the neighbourhood , who find it somewhat

difficult at times to attend at Hope-street . The brethren who have interested themselves in this matter consist of Bros . Dr . Thomas Clarke , T . Vernon , Bradley , Parkinson , Barrett , Hunter , Smythe , Neale , Tarbuck , Hassell , Hudson , Humphreys , Thos . Saxton , A . Wright , and others . These names augur well for the ultimate success of the scheme ,

coupled with the fact that it has the cordial approval of the P . G . Sec , Bro . Goodacre ; and judging from the promises already in the hands of the promoters , it will add greatly to the strength of the Masonic fraternity in the Province of West Lancashire . Suitable premises have already been secured for the holding of the meeting of the proposed lodge . —Liverpool Courier .

HOLLOWAY ' S OINTMENT AND PILLS are beyond all doubt the most valuable and most convenient medicines that travellers can take across the seas to distant climes , for change of climate and the new conditions and surroundings of life to which they will be exposed will assuredly give rise to great disturbances of the system , to such morbid states of the blood

and especial and constitution generally , as will render the use of these effectual remedies highly necessary , for they will find in them a ready and safe means of relief in most of the diseases which afflict the human race , and with them at hand they may be said to have a physician always at iheir call . —ADVT .
