had the honour of instilling Bro . H . J . Capon as W . M . for the ensuing year . He had experienced great pleasure in doing so , for he felt that he wis installing a brother in whose hands the prestige and credit of the lodge were safe for another year . It had been said that Bro . Capon was a young Mison , but , though young , he was a worthy , well-tried man , and the brethren were all proud of him . In submitting the toast he said he was sure all present would

heartily wish Bro . Capon a year of satisfaction and pleasure both to himself and the lodge . The VV . M ., who was warmly applauded on rising to respond , thanked the brethren for the cordial manner in which they had received the too flattering remarks of Bro . Stillwell . He would , he said , do his utmost to maintain the high character of the lodge , but remarked that though he had been fortunate in seeing the admirable -work of Bro .

Stillwell , he was unfortunate in having to preserve the high level attained hj that brother . It had been truly said that he ( Bro . Capon ) was a young Mason , but he was sure the brethren would bear with him , and assist him in carrying out the duties of his high office . Several toasts of a complimentary character were

In making the presentation Bro . Holbrook spoke of the many services rendered to Freemasonry and the Dee Lodge in particular by Bro . Clarke durintr his Masonic career . Bro . Clarke

had discharged the duties 0 ' the various offices which he had filled ( and they were numerous ) in a most efficient manner . He ( Bro . Holbrook ) did not know a Mason who had achieved so much as Bro . Clarke had , considering he was a very young man . He had been Worshipful Master of the Uee Lodge and was now Secretary . He had filled the chair of the Chapter of Fidelity , No . 477 , and was

' rov . Grand Sojounirr for Cheshire . He was J . W . of Lodge No . 19 G , Chester , of Mark Masons , and was Past r ,, ' Grand Steward in that Degree of Masonry . Bro . Clarke , in returning thanks to the brethren for their hands ! me present , said if he could believe all the kind things said of him he should be very proud , but they had ( nut of the hrgeness of their hearts ) placed too high a value

on his poor services . He wouli havi very great pleasure in handing lo his wife the beautiful presents , and tne cabinet he wou'd look upon with pride all his life , and and it would be very fiequently called into requisition Lr the benefit of the Ldge . had the honour of instilling Bro . H .

Several toasts of a complimentary character were

afterwards submitted by the W . M ., Bros . J . C . Foran and F " . Lawson Lewis responding for " The Visitors ; " Bro . E . W . StillweU that of " The Immediate Past Master ; " and Bros . R .
