belong to Christ , verily I say unto you he shall not lose his reward . " In the course of an eloquent address , th preacher impressed upon them the necessity of being in Charity with all men . " Love thy neighbour as thy . self " was Christ ' s great maxim , and he considered it a privilege , as well as their bounden duty , to endeavour to alleviate the suffering of their fellow-men , and b y
their help to , provide for the fatherless and hel p the poor . He referred at some length to a number of portions of the Holy Writ which inculcated in a special manner this important duty of the Christian , on which the principles of Freemasonry was to a great extent based . He said : As being children of the one Father ' they owed a duty to each other . They should not onl y
regard all men as their neighbours , but as brothers of Christ . He dwelt at length on the different sins to which man is subject , and warned them to guard against the sin of omission as being equally dangerous and far more subtle than the sin of commission . Christ tpld them that the neglect of duty was just as sinful in God ' s sight as the commission of flagrant sins . Jn
conclusion , he made an earnest appeal for a liberal offertory on behalf of the Masonic Charities . The special hymns sung were Nos . 43 , 318 , and 485 . Mr . R . Rolston acted as Organist . Sister, The Hon. Mrs. Aldworth.
SISTER , THE HON . MRS . ALDWORTH .
Bro . Richard Jackson , of 16 , Commercial-street , Leeds , has just brought out another of his most successful reproductions . As respects engravings he has already published excellent copies of Picart ' s list of lodges of 1734-5 , and the remarkable procession of 1742 , & c ., and now we have the
reproduction of the fine plate of the Hon . Mrs . Aldworth which is both rare and valuable , to complete the trio . The original mezzotint is in the possession of the celebrated " York Lodge , No . 236 , " from which Bro . Jackson has had his copy made , by permission and so faithfully has the engraver done his work , that save for the newness of the plate , it is equal in all
respects to the valuable original . Our " only Sister " was initiated early last century , but precisely when and where is not quite clear . Bro . Hughan has proved most conclusively that the lad y must have " seen the light" before the year 1 744 , as her name occurs in the extraordinary list of subscribers to " Dr . Dassigny ' s Enquiry " of that year , being the
only female recorded out of hundreds of names . Particulars are given by Bro . Hughan in his able introduction to Bro . Jackson ' s perfects facsimile 6 f : tharJ invaluable work ( still for sale ) which was made from the only copy known in Europe , safely domiciled in the West Yorkshire Masonic Library , under the watchful eye of Bro . William Watson .
There are only 200 of this reproduction of the Hon . Mrs . Aldworth , full size of the original , and making a most striking picture . The lady is standing by the side of a grand old Master ' s chair , her left hand resting on , or pointing to , the " Volume of the Sacred Law , " and the right hand is on her breast . Copies may be had
from the publisher , if application be made very soon , the number being so limited . It is quite certain that the edition would be subscribed for in full by the Irish lodges did they but know of this most beautiful anil faithful reproduction , which is stated by Bro . Hughan to be Bro . Jackson ' s masterpiece .

belong to Christ , verily I say unto you he shall not lose his reward .
Jn
