Alfred Montague Kennett , of the Border Lodge , No . 2475 , which proving to be unanimous in his favour , he was exalted in a most impressive manner , each of the newly-installed officers performing his portion of the ceremony with
an amount of skill and ability which could not have been surpassed by the oldest veteran among the Preceptors of the Degree . A Past Principal ' s jewel was presented to Comp . C Pulman , whose services in the chair , and as the chief founder of the chapter , were gracefully passed in review by the M . E . Z ., and the expression of goodwill , of which he was the mouthpiece , was most
feelingly acknowledged by the I . P . Z . All business being ended , the chapter was closed . The companions dined quietly together , and then dispersed to their various homes . A gloom , which could not be dispelled , had been cast over the proceedings by the sudden and deeply-lamented death of the Grand Superintendent . Nor would the meeting have taken place had circumstances
admitted of its being adiourned until a later date . The usual festivities with which the meetings of the Bisley Lodge and Chapter are so agreeably associated , were dispensed with , and so would have been the providing of refreshment of any kind had it been possible to alter the time of assembly , and thus enable the _ companions to return to their own dwellings at a convenient hour . toasts were given . One sad thought pervaded all mindsthe greatness of the loss sustained by the untimely decease of Col . Gerard Noel Money , whose ability and geniality in the high olfice of Prov . Walter Waters , I . P . M ., and Bro . Thomas Rowbotham , has been formed for the purpose of marking , by some substantial recognition , the great and exceptional services rendered to Mark Masonry in general , and the
Charity Lodge in particular , by Bro . Edward Mallard , who was the principal founder of the lodge and its first W . M ., and to whose untiring energy , Masonic enthusiasm , ripe counsel , steady work , and fraternal popularity , the distinguished position to which the lodge has so rapidly attained in the Province of Warwickshire and in national reputation is largely due . This movement has been warmly taken up , and is expressive of feelings which are unanimous amongst Ihe brethren of Ihe lodge . It is proposed that the
presentation to Bro . Mallard shall be in the form of a suitably framed and inscribed life-sized portrait in oils , of the worthy brother himself , arrayed in his Mark insignia and the jewels of his offices , upon a canvas 36 in . x 30 in . —the celebrated " Kit-Gat " size . The portrait is being painted by the well-known artist , Mr . Vivian Crome , and it is expected the work will be ready for presentation at the ordinary meeting of the lodge in June next . Bro . Although the severity of the weather prevented many of the deceased's old comrades in the Indian Mutiny and later engagements from being present at the funeral onjThursday , the 14 th inst ., the interment at Weybridge Cemetery was witnessed by a large concourse of friends . Business in Weybridge was
entirely suspended , and there was every manifestation of local mourning . The deceased ' s brother , the Rev . W . B . Money , M . A . ( Rector ) , conducted the first part of the service in the Parish Church , where there was a very large gathering . The service was choral , the hymn "Lead , kindly light" being sung by the choir and the Dead March in " Saul" played on the organ .
The coffin , which was of polished oak with heavy brass mounts bore the inscription : "Gerard Noel Money , C . B ., died February nth , 18 95 ; aged 59 years . " It was conveyed on a bier to the cemetery , where it was interred in a grave lined with evergreens , ivy and moss . Covering the coffin was the Union Jack , and on a velvet cushion were placed deceased's helmet and
plume , sword , gloves , Masonic collar and apron , and the following decorations : Commander of the Bath , Knight of the Order of St . John of Jerusalem , the Indian Mutiny medal with the clasps Lucknow and Delhi , the Kabul to Kandahar medal , a medal with the clasps Jowaki , 1877-8 , and Umbeya , the Afghanistan medal , 1878 , 1879 , and 1880 , with the clasps

followed by other speeches . The remainder of the evening was pleasantly devoted to instrumental and vocal harmony , to which Bros . Dr . Hinton , Mus . Doc . and M . A ., and Egbert Roberts particularly distinguished themselves . Bro . F . W . Driver read an amusing original sketch— "The wail of the unappreciated , " which in this instance was warmly received .

Although the severity of the weather prevented many of the deceased's old comrades in the Indian Mutiny and later engagements from being present at the funeral onjThursday , the 14 th inst ., the interment at Weybridge Cemetery was witnessed by a large concourse of friends . Business in Weybridge was
entirely suspended , and there was every manifestation of local mourning . The deceased ' s brother , the Rev . W . B . Money , M . A . ( Rector ) , conducted the first part of the service in the Parish Church , where there was a very large gathering . The service was choral , the hymn "Lead , kindly light" being sung by the choir and the Dead March in " Saul" played on the organ .
The coffin , which was of polished oak with heavy brass mounts bore the inscription : "Gerard Noel Money , C . B ., died February nth , 18 95 ; aged 59 years . " It was conveyed on a bier to the cemetery , where it was interred in a grave lined with evergreens , ivy and moss . Covering the coffin was the Union Jack , and on a velvet cushion were placed deceased's helmet and
plume , sword , gloves , Masonic collar and apron , and the following decorations : Commander of the Bath , Knight of the Order of St . John of Jerusalem , the Indian Mutiny medal with the clasps Lucknow and Delhi , the Kabul to Kandahar medal , a medal with the clasps Jowaki , 1877-8 , and Umbeya , the Afghanistan medal , 1878 , 1879 , and 1880 , with the clasps
