The Worshipful Master , _ in rising to propose "The I . P . M ., " said he was certain it would be received with approval . The brethren knew as well as he could tell them what Bro . Holland , I . P . M ., had done in the past , and that his endeavours had more than met with their satisfaction . The I . P . M . had been a hard-working Mason , painstaking , courteous , and kind in manner , and although there had been Masters as good , there had been none better . He would
take that opportunity of presenting Bro . Holland , I . P . M ., with a token of their gratitude—a Past Master ' s jeweland he congratulated the I . P . M . on receiving it . Bro . G . Holland , LP AL , in reply , said he must first thank the Past MasCcis , officers , and every member of the lodge for the very kind support given him during the past year . His year of office had been the most pleasant year of his life , although he was not a young man . That
evening finished his majority in Masonry and reached the climax of his Masonic career . Owing to the members his year had been a prosperous one and the Past Masters had always been ready to give him kindly advice . Amongst the Past Masters he could fortunately claim personal friends who had been endeared to him for many years , and he thanked the officers and members who had recently joined for their ready help . He had never proposed anything in lodge but
it had been met with kindly feeling , so that there was little wonder his year was prosperous . That year had been ended by the members presenting him with a handsome jewel , for which he thanked them . He would assist the W . M . to make the coming year as pleasant as the past one had been , and if that should prove the case the W . M . might shake hands with himself and say he was indeed a lucky man . " The Initiates" having been honoured , " The Visitors "
was cordially given , and responded to by Bros . E . C Mulvey , P . P . G . S . B . ; J . Shand , P . M . ; Rymer , and Salt . Bro . T . Catling , P . M ., also responded . He said it had been his experience in life , and might be again , to record for the edification of the public the services rendered by those present in the past , and from what he saw that evening he was confident they would be ready to render them again
if wanted . He would trespass for one moment to say how much he was pleased at the installation ceremony as it was performed by the I . P . M . Among the " Savages , " where he had the honour to reign , and also in the Drury Lane Lodge , of which he was a member , he had seen working of various kinds , but there were always lessons to be learnt in Masonry , and that evening he had noticed the deep earnestness and manly feeling , which had found further
expression in the kindly reception of the visitors . He was convinced the initiates would carry away remembrances of the deepest earnestness with regard ; to their first night in Masonry among the Wanderers Lodge . "The Past Masters" and other toasts were given before the Tyler ' s toast closed a very successful gathering . The enjoyment of the brethren was greatly increased by the performance of an excellent selection of music .
