Everitt Clayton by Past Master W . VV . Clayton , Prov .
G . Deacon , his own brother . The lodge having been lowered to the f'irst * Degree , an initiation was taken . The candidate was Mr . Berkeley George Andrew Moyniham , whose reputation as an operative surgeon is well established , not in Leeds only , but very extensively elsewhere , the ceremony was conducted by Bro . Whitehead , the oldest Past Master and one of the founders of the Zetland Lodge . When we recall the fact that Zetland Lodge originated in 1 S 70 , sufficient will have been said to prove the long connection which has existed between it and Bro . Whitehead . Friend , counsellor , instructor—he has been all these , and judging by the vigour he displayed and the facility he showed , there is every reason to hope—in which we cordially share—that Bro . Whitehead will for many years be spared tu give the benefit of his valuable advice and assistance whenever either may be needed in his lodge . The evening being advanced , the delivery of the ancient charge and the presentation of the working tools to Bro . His remarks , it may be noted , were thoroughly appreciated . Bro . W . Postlethwaite , P . M ., proposed "The Visiting Brethren of Pentalpha Lodge , No . njj ,, Bradford . " Hro . Heselton , W . Ihe acting VV . M . then gave thetoastof "The Initiate , Bro . Moyniham . " He spoke of his reputation in , and association with , the medical profession , and prophesied that hc would one day rival in fame the many eminent surgeons for which Leeds had long been distinguished . Bro . Moyniham , in replying , said he felt proud that the W . M . should associate his
