EAST MOLESEY . Frederick West Lodge ( No . 2222 ) . —The installation meeting was held at the Castle Hotel on the 12 th inst ., when Bro . David Hughes , the W . M ., _ opened the lodge in presence of an unusually large gathering of members and visitors . Among- these last were Bros . Fredk .

This is a lodge in which the almost unique occurrence of three brothers by blood occupying the chair in successive years has been seen , the same having also happened with
the identical trio in the City of London Lodge . Thus it was that Bro . John Hughes , P . M ., presented to his brother David their brother Daniel for the benefit of installation . It was a great treat even to old members of the Craft to watch the working exhibited by the Installing Master , who , however , does not surpass his brothers in that respect . All
three are perfect masters of the ritual , and to a commanding presence add an elocutionary gift which may well be envied . _ The Board of Installed Masters numbered 21 , so that an idea of the interest taken in the event may be easily imagined . The newly-installed Master appointed as officers the following brethren : Bros . W . Thomas , P . M .,

Reports Of Masonic Meetings.
As the opening of the summer season takes the professional brethren away from Manchester till September , arrangements were made for a musical evening , which was responded to right loyally , with the result that such a vocal and instrumental treat was afforded as rarely comes within the reach of any lodge ; such artistes as Bros . Harmer , Hulme , Gaggs , Avison , Reynolds , Wadsworth , Bartle , Blacow , Kinneli , and others liberallv contributing a little of
what they can do to make it an occasion to be well and worthily remembered . After the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , the VV . M . proposed a vote of thanks to all the brethren who had so graciousl y responded to his invitation , and wished health and prosperity to all those about to leave them for a season , hoping for a happy return in due course . It was received with acclamation , and a delightful evening was brought to a close .
RIVERHEAD . Amherst Lodge ( No . 1223 ) . —The May meeting of this lodge was well attended on Saturday , the 2 nd inst ., though the opening of the Ordnance Lodge at Gravesend deprived it of several distinguished brethren of the province who are accustomed to honour the installation ceremonies of the Amherst Lodge with their presence .
Prior to entering the lodge room an attempt was made to take a photograph of the members , but a heavy downpour of rain drove all to shelter , and for the third time the effort to secure a group of No . 1223 failed . There was not much work , and the installation ceremony was shortened owing to the re-election of Bro . F . P . Lee to the chair of K . S ., a course deemed expedient in the
interests of the lodge because of the dropping out of the two Wardens . On the presentation of the Treasurer ' s audited accounts it was seen that the funds were in a sound state , and on the proposition of Bro . E . J . Dodd , P . M ., it was resolved to vote ^ 3 to the Building Fund Account of the Royal Free Hospital , Gray's Inn-road ( to which Bro . Dr . H . W . Dodd is attached as a member of the staff ) , and also £ 10
to Bro . Durtnell ' s list in aid of the recent Festival for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution . The installation of the W . M . was again undertaken by hisown brother , Bro . A . H . Lee , I . P . M ., who gave another display of correct and impressive working . The W . M . appointed the following officers : Bros . C . Hooker , S . W . ; Burfoot , J . W . ; Durtnell , P . M ., P . P . G . Supt . of Works , Treas . ( re-elected );
Jewell , P . M ., P . P . G . Reg ., Sec ; Dr . H . W . Dodd , S . D . ; L . G . Smith , J . D . ; Dr . Whitcombe , I . G . ; Evenden , D . C ; J . Wilmott , A . D . C ; Horton and Mist , Stwds . ; and Bowra , Tyler . Bro . South , after many years' service in the office last named , retired , and Bro . Bowra , well known to members and visitors of the Amherst Lodge , was appointed in his stead . Of the worthy brother who was
appointed Secretary , it should be said that he has commenced his iSth year of office in the lodge in which he first saw light , and of which he is now one of the very few original members . He desired to be released from duty , but was induced by the VV . M . to serve , at least , through his second period of ruling the lodge . For the reason before stated , several of the Past Masters were not
in their usual places , Bro . E . J . Dodd , P . P . G . O ., being the only other in addition to the Treasurer , Secretary , and the Bros . Lee . Among the visitors were Bros . Gabb , P . M . 902 ; J . F . Dunn , 902 ; F . Dangerfield , P . M . 1260 ; C . Sims , W . M . 1206 ; J . Ryder , VV . M . 2200 ( who kindly acted as D . C . in the ceremony ); Josiah Willmott , S . D . 2200 ; and VV .
Drewett , P . M . 8 S 9 , 163 S , P . G . Std . Br . Surrey . Business over , the brethren took their places at the banquet table , and bestowed close attention upon the very excellent bill of lare submitted by Bro . Waller , of the Amherst Arms Hotel , whose catering never fails to furnish a fitting sequel to the good work at all times exhibited in the adjoining room . In every respect the repast was , as
aptly put by Bro . Jewell— " Royal cheer , I warrant you " ; and we must once more compliment that devoted admirer of the " Immortal William " upon the trite selections with which he illustrated the various toasts , all possessing the additional meritof novelty . Thus , after "The W . M . " — " Master , go on " ! " The Secretary " — " Find me thy
gold , if thou hast any gold . " The post prandial proceedings were most enjoyable —speeches short , but happy , and music ( under the direction of Bro . Lloyd ) plentiful . At the proper time a Past Master ' s jewel was presented to the VV . M ., and in perfect harmony the May meeting of the Amherst Lodge closed .
SALFORD . Newall Lodge ( No . 1134 ) . —The regular meeting of this lodge was held in the Masonic Hall , Adelphistreet , on Tuesday , the 5 th inst . The following brethren were present : Bros . A . M ., it was resolved to vote ^ 3 to the Building Fund Account of the Royal Free Hospital , Gray's Inn-road ( to which Bro . Dr . H . W . Dodd is attached as a member of the staff ) , and also £ 10
to Bro . Durtnell ' s list in aid of the recent Festival for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution . The installation of the W . M . was again undertaken by hisown brother , Bro . A . H . Lee , I . P . M ., who gave another display of correct and impressive working . The W . M . appointed the following officers : Bros . C . Hooker , S . W . ; Burfoot , J . W . ; Durtnell , P . M ., P . P . G . Supt . of Works , Treas . ( re-elected );
