THE DEATH OF THE " OLDEST FREEMASON IN THE WORLD . "—There has been a good many " oldest Freemasons in the world" during the last few years , our United States contemporaries having been particularly zealous in discovering aged Freemasons , each older than the other . But none of these were old enough , in our opinion , to be entitled to this honourable designation , the
most patriarchal of them all , if we remember rightly , going no further back than about 1812 or 1813 , though a year or two ago there died in Scotland an old Mason who had been initiated about 1 S 08 or 1 S 09 . However , we think we have reached him at last in the person of our late worthy Bro . John Tresidder , of Penryn , Cornwall , who died on luesday , the io ! h instant , in the 103 rd year of his age , having
been born on the 2 nd December , 17 S 5 . Our deceased brother , whom we have frequently seen , and who , barring his dealness , was in possession of his faculties up to the last , was initiated in the Lodge of Love and Honour , now No . 75 , Falmouth , on the 6 th August , 1 S 05 . when he was a few months short of 20 years of age , and remained a member for several years . It strikes us that a Masonic
record which extends back for nearly 83 years will not be easily beaten . NORTH-WEST LO .
