THE APPROACHING SCHOOL ELECTIONS .

The autumn School Elections will be held at Freemasons ' Tavern during the second week in October , and for once in the way the numbers of the candidates and of the vacancies to be filled are nearly on a level , the Boys' School having only one more candidate than its sister Institution , and the Girls' School

only one more vacancy . The election into the

ROYAL MASONIC INSTITUTION FOR BOYS will take place at the Quarterly Court of Governors and Subscribers which will be held at Freemasons' Tavern , on Friday , the 13 th October , the number of approved candidates being 34

and the number of vacancies to be filled 15 . London contributes 10 candidates and has part interest with Dorsetshire and West Lancashire in another , while the remaining 23 hail from the Provinces and Abroad . The London contingent comprises No .

( North Wales ) arc all applicants for the first time , and if they fail next month may still hope to win admission into the School . It now only remains for us to make our usual appeal in behalf of those children who are what are commonl y spoken of

as " last cases . " Fortunately , these are but six in number , namely , Nos . 1 and 2 on the Girls' list , and Nos . 8 , 26 , 32 , and 34 on the Boys' lists , and of these both Girls and No . S of the Boys start with a goodly number of votes to their credit . In

respect of these six children we earnestl y appeal to all Governors and Subscribers who have not alread y promised , their support and influence to do all in their power to ensure

their election . Others can wait a further six or twelve months and still be elected , but these half-dozen must win vacancies next month or be for ever disappointed .
