funds to the list of Bro . Featherstone as a Stexvard to the icstival of the R . M . B . I . The members and their guests then adjourned to the banquet . Upon the removal of the cloth the customary toasts folloxved . "TheHealth of the W . M . " having been proposed and

responded to , The toast of "The R . W . D . P . G . M . and the rest of thc Provincial Grand Officers " xvas enthusiastically received . Bros . Thrupp and Inglis having replied , the toasts of "The Initiates , " "The Visitors , " "The W . M . elect , " and " The Officers" folloxved in quick succession , and brought the proceedings to a close .

RAWTENSTALL . — Hantaan Lodge ( No . 194 S ) . —The first installation meeting since the consecration of this nexv lodge xvas held at the Queen ' s Arms Hotel , on Monday , 12 th inst . lt is gratifying to record the prosperity of the lodge since its formation , which is mainly oxving to the munificent donations given to the furnishing fund by Bros . Major and R . H . Hardman of £ 100 each ,

xvhich nearly covered the cost of the xvhole paraphernalia . The lodge has also during the first year of its existence initiated several members and been xvell attended , and the balance-sheet shoxvs the sum of £ 38 17 s , 3 d . in the Treasurer ' s hands , xvhich for a young lodge is a very satisfactory state of things . A great deal of time and labour has been expended by Bro . J . Harding , the indefatigable Secretary

of the lodge , in organising and carrying out the various arrangements connected with the lodge , long before and since its formation , and we xvere very pleased to learn that Bro . Harding ' s services had been so far ajipreciated that as a small return the brethren , at the instigation of the W . M ., had decided to present their Secretary xvith a jexvel , in xvhich xvere combined the cross pens and square and

Major Hardman , having been presented , xvas afterxvards inducted xvith all due rite and ceremony into the chair of K . S . and proclaimed to and saluted by the brethren as their VV . M . for the ensuing 12 months . The folloxving brethren were appointed

The brethren afterxvards sat down to a well-served banquet , at the termination of xvhich the loyal and Masonic toasts xvere honoured .

The claims of a distressed American brother became the subject of an animated discussion as to the propriety of such applications to lodges of instruction . M . for the ensuing week , and xvill work in the Second and Third Degrees on the 24 th inst . Lodge xvas closed in perfect harmony .

Lodge was opened in the First Degree and next in the Second Degree . Bro . Polac , acting as candidate , was interrogated and entrusted . After the minutes of the last regular convocation had been read and confirmed the ballot xvas taken for Bros . Capts . Cole and Lapham , 1971 , which being unanimous in their favour , they xvere duly exalted to the Supreme Degree of Royal Arch , and the exaltees xvere evidently deeply impressed xvith the very effective manner in xvhich the ceremony xvas rendered . RAWTENSTALL . — Hantaan Lodge ( No . 194 S ) . —The first installation meeting since the consecration of this nexv lodge xvas held at the Queen ' s Arms Hotel , on Monday , 12 th inst . lt is gratifying to record the prosperity of the lodge since its formation , which is mainly oxving to the munificent donations given to the furnishing fund by Bros . Major and R . H . Hardman of £ 100 each ,

xvhich nearly covered the cost of the xvhole paraphernalia . The lodge has also during the first year of its existence initiated several members and been xvell attended , and the balance-sheet shoxvs the sum of £ 38 17 s , 3 d . in the Treasurer ' s hands , xvhich for a young lodge is a very satisfactory state of things . A great deal of time and labour has been expended by Bro . J . Harding , the indefatigable Secretary

of the lodge , in organising and carrying out the various arrangements connected with the lodge , long before and since its formation , and we xvere very pleased to learn that Bro .
