At six o ' clock the brethren sat down to a banquet , served in a style which reflected the highest credit upon the courteous host , Bro . Biddolph , P . M . The W . M . presided , and proposed the loyal toasts . The toasts of "The P . G . M . of West Lancashire , the Earl of Lathom , " and of "Col . Stanley , D . P . G . M ., and the rest of the P . G . Officers " were honoured in the
customary manner . Bro . Goodacre , P . G . Sec , responded for the Prov . G . Officers . Bro . Burslem , I . P . M ., gave "The W . M ,, " which was received with enthusiasm . In responding , the Worshipful Master expressed his sense of the honour which had been conferred upon him , and his determination to uphold the good name of the
lodge . The W . M . proposed the toast of "The Immediate Past Master , " and the manner in which the proposition was received furnished ample testimony of the estimation in which Bro . Burslem is held by his bethren of the Trafford Lodge . The remaining toasts included "The Visiting Brethren , " proposed by Bro . McKellen , P . M ., and responded toby

M ., who also gave most impressively the lecture on the second tracing board . The election of VV . M . resulted unanimously in favour of Bro . Briggs , S . W ., who duly acknowledged the honour conferred upon him . Bro . the Rev . S . T . H . Saunders was
unanimously elected Treasurer—vice Bro . W . H . Saunders resigned—and Bro . Harrison , Tyler . The Audit Committee having been appointed , a vote of thanks was passed to Bro . W . H . Saunders , in recognition of his long and valuable services as Treasurer , and deeply regretting his resignation . Bto . Saunders having acknowledged this compliment in feeling terms , a Past Master's jewel was voted to the
W . M ,, as well as a vote of thanks to him for the interesting lecture of the Second Degree delivered that evening . Bro . Captain Cuming having been proposed as a joining member , letters apologising for non-attendance were read from Bros . Richnell , J . W . ; R . Saunders , and others . The lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to refreshment . The usual toasts followed .

BRIGHTON . —Atlingworth Lodge ( No . 1 S 21 ) . —The annual installation meeting oE this lodge was held at the Royal Pavilion on Thursday afternoon , the 15 th inst ., the Installing Master being Bro . B . Burfield , the retiring VV . M ., Prov . G . A . Sec . of Sussex , who performed the whole of the ceremonies in a most masterly manner . The lodge has from its foundation been worked mainly by
the officers and members of the Brighton Board of Guardians , although during the last few years it has made its way amongst the resident professional and trading class generally . Bro . Burfield , the now I . P . M ., has been for many years the Assistant Clerk to the Board of Guardians , his successor , the Rev . W . A . Tooth , is Chaplain of the Industrial Schools , and the Past Masters include Bros .

Sayers and Marks , and served up by them in first-class style , the viands and wines being excellent . The usual Masonic toasts were duly honoured and
interspersed by songs , sung by Miss Darlington , Miss Hochheimer , Mr . T . Albery , and Mr . A . Neall , supplemented by the efforts of two of the visiting brethren ; Bro . W . Ardley contributing a pianoforte solo in excellent style , while Bro . J . C . Fly gave the "Lost Chord , " as a cornet solo , with such stirring effect as to win an enthusiastic encore . The duties of accompanist were ably carried out by Bro . VV . N . Roe , P . P . G . Organist .

The W . M . having resumed the chair , Bro . A . Clark , P . M . 1227 , was admitted a joining member . On the motion of Bro . Bird , P . M ., it was resolved that the annual subscription and the initiation fee should be increased . It was also resolved , on the motion of Bro . Jones , that the members of the lodge should present a banner to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Middlesex . The money was immediately
forthcoming , and a committee was formed to carry the resolution into effect . Alter dinner , which was catered for in an able manner by Bro . L . Cole , the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured . The W . M . then proposed "The Health of the Provincial Grand Officers , " and alluded in feeling terms to Bro . Sir
Francis Burdett , who had , by his untiring zeal , and the admirable manner in which he performed the onerous duties cf Prov . G . M ., done so much to promote the welfare of the Province of Middlesex . Bro . Bird , P . Prov . G . S . B ., P . M ., responded , and returned grateful thanks for the allusions to the Provincial Grand Officers , who were always only too happy to render
any assistance they could for the benefit of Freemasonry in general , and especially of that province . The toast of "The W . M . " was then given by Bro . Osborn , I . P . M ., who said he considered it an honour to have the felicity of proposing the health of Bro . Lee , who had performed his work in such an excellent manner . He had received his first lessons in Freeemasonry from Bro .
Lee , and felt assured that under his sway the Citadel Lodge would flourish and prosper . Bro . Lee , in reply , heartily thanked the brethren for the cordial manner in which they had received the toast of his health , and said that the brethren could rely upon him doing his best to promote the interests of the lodge . The next toast he had to bring to their notice was thai- of " The
Initiates , " and he was very pleased to say that t ' . ere were two present that evening , both being relatives of members of the lodge . He gladly welcomed them , and hoped that by following the valuable precepts that had been instilled into them that evening , they would rise in Freemasonry , and become respected and esteemed in the lodge , as their relatives were .
Bros . Mayes and Von Holtorp briefly responded . The W . M . then gave " The Visitors , " who were always sure of a cordial reception in that lodge . They were generally fortunate in having a large number of visitors , and he trusted that those present had spent a pleasant and profitable evening . Bro . Brand , P . M . i < 24 , replied and thanked the brethren
for the hospitable manner in which the visitors had been received . He had worked shoulder to shoulder with Bro . Lee for many years in another lodge , and it afforded him no little pleasure to see the admirable manner in which the Citadel Lodge was conducted . Bros . Rhodes and Miliin also responded . "The Health of the Joining Member" was next
proposed , the W . M . offering Bro . Clark a hearty welcome . He had been associated with Bro . Clark in Freemasonry for several years , and felt sure that he would prove a valuable acquisition . Bro . Clark , P . M . 1227 , thanked the VV . M . for the flattering terms in which he had proposed the toast of his health , and the brethren for the hearty reception they had
accorded it , and assured them that he should be very glad to render any assistance in his power to promote the prosperity of the lodge . In reply to the ' toast of "The Past Masters , " which was heartily received , Bro . Osborn , P . M ., said that he wished to convey his sincere thanks to the brethren for the magnificent manner in which they had responded to the proposal respecting the banner to be presented to the Provincial
Grand Lodge of Middlesex . He had the honour of having been appointed Prov . G . Std . Br ., and expressed his pleasure and pride that the standard it would be his duty to bear , should be presented by the members of the Citadel Lodge . In proposing "The Health of the Officers , " the VV . M . thanked them heartily for the willing and efficient manner
in which they performed their respective duties . He was very pleased to see Bro . Hurran , their esteemed Treasurer , i n the lodge again , and hoped he would be at their meetings for many years to come . Bro . Hurran replied , and after thanking the VV . M . and brethren for the reception of the toast of his health , expressed his pleasure at being once more among them .
"The Tyler ' s" toast brought a very pleasant evening to a close . The musical arrangements , which added greatly to the enjoyment of the brethren , were under the direction of Bro . Wright , who was ably assisted by Bros . Woodman , Sheffield , Jones , and Lee .
KIDSGROVE . —St . Thomas ' s Lodge ( No . 1914 ) . —The brethren of this lodge assembled at their lodge room on Tuesday , the 13 th inst ., to witness the installation of Bro . Woodcock as SV . Reports Of Masonic Meetings.
The W . M . having resumed the chair , Bro . A . Clark , P . M . 1227 , was admitted a joining member . On the motion of Bro . Bird , P . M ., it was resolved that the annual subscription and the initiation fee should be increased . It was also resolved , on the motion of Bro . Jones , that the members of the lodge should present a banner to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Middlesex . The money was immediately
forthcoming , and a committee was formed to carry the resolution into effect . Alter dinner , which was catered for in an able manner by Bro . L . Cole , the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured . The W . M . then proposed "The Health of the Provincial Grand Officers , " and alluded in feeling terms to Bro . Sir
Francis Burdett , who had , by his untiring zeal , and the admirable manner in which he performed the onerous duties cf Prov . G . M ., done so much to promote the welfare of the Province of Middlesex . Bro . Bird , P . Prov . G . S . B ., P . M ., responded , and returned grateful thanks for the allusions to the Provincial Grand Officers , who were always only too happy to render
any assistance they could for the benefit of Freemasonry in general , and especially of that province . The toast of "The W . M . " was then given by Bro . Osborn , I . P . M ., who said he considered it an honour to have the felicity of proposing the health of Bro . Lee , who had performed his work in such an excellent manner . He had received his first lessons in Freeemasonry from Bro .
Lee , and felt assured that under his sway the Citadel Lodge would flourish and prosper . Bro . Lee , in reply , heartily thanked the brethren for the cordial manner in which they had received the toast of his health , and said that the brethren could rely upon him doing his best to promote the interests of the lodge . The next toast he had to bring to their notice was thai- of " The
Initiates , " and he was very pleased to say that t ' . ere were two present that evening , both being relatives of members of the lodge . He gladly welcomed them , and hoped that by following the valuable precepts that had been instilled into them that evening , they would rise in Freemasonry , and become respected and esteemed in the lodge , as their relatives were .
Bros . Mayes and Von Holtorp briefly responded . The W . M . then gave " The Visitors , " who were always sure of a cordial reception in that lodge . They were generally fortunate in having a large number of visitors , and he trusted that those present had spent a pleasant and profitable evening . Bro . Brand , P . M . i < 24 , replied and thanked the brethren
for the hospitable manner in which the visitors had been received . He had worked shoulder to shoulder with Bro . Lee for many years in another lodge , and it afforded him no little pleasure to see the admirable manner in which the Citadel Lodge was conducted . Bros . Rhodes and Miliin also responded . "The Health of the Joining Member" was next
proposed , the W . M . offering Bro . Clark a hearty welcome . He had been associated with Bro . Clark in Freemasonry for several years , and felt sure that he would prove a valuable acquisition . Bro . Clark , P . M . 1227 , thanked the VV . M . for the flattering terms in which he had proposed the toast of his health , and the brethren for the hearty reception they had
accorded it , and assured them that he should be very glad to render any assistance in his power to promote the prosperity of the lodge . In reply to the ' toast of "The Past Masters , " which was heartily received , Bro . Osborn , P . M ., said that he wished to convey his sincere thanks to the brethren for the magnificent manner in which they had responded to the proposal respecting the banner to be presented to the Provincial
Grand Lodge of Middlesex . He had the honour of having been appointed Prov . G . Std . Br ., and expressed his pleasure and pride that the standard it would be his duty to bear , should be presented by the members of the Citadel Lodge . In proposing "The Health of the Officers , " the VV . M . thanked them heartily for the willing and efficient manner
in which they performed their respective duties . He was very pleased to see Bro . Hurran , their esteemed Treasurer , i n the lodge again , and hoped he would be at their meetings for many years to come . Bro . Hurran replied , and after thanking the VV . M . and brethren for the reception of the toast of his health , expressed his pleasure at being once more among them .
"The Tyler ' s" toast brought a very pleasant evening to a close . The musical arrangements , which added greatly to the enjoyment of the brethren , were under the direction of Bro . Wright , who was ably assisted by Bros . Woodman , Sheffield , Jones , and Lee .
