The Keystone , of Philadelphia , announces the death on the 23 rd Septeivber ult . of Bro . Benjamin A . Botts , M . W . G . M . of Texas , and nephew of the Hon . J . Minor Botts , cf Virginia . Bro . Botts was quite of middle age , having been born in Virginia in 1 S 31 . He settled at
Houston , Texas , about 1851 , and served with the Confederate armies during the American Civil War . The deceased possessed talents of a high order , and his loss , both as G . Master and Past G . Commander of Knights Templar , will be very severely felt .
The Elcho Challenge Shield , won by the English eight at Wimbledon in July , was ceremoniously handed over to Bro . the Lord Mayor , M . P ., and will remain in his custody till July next .
