GUERNSEY . Doyle ' s Conclave ( No . 7 ) . —Thanks to the en . crgt . tic action taken by Sir Kniglit Balfour Cockburn immediately on his appointment as lntendant General of this division . The above conclave , which had been in complete abeyance since 1 S 73 , is now open and in full working ore'er . Unfortunately , the great majority of the original members ol the conclave are either dead or have

lelt the inland . Happily four very excellent brethren were found zealous and wtfing to resume tneir duties , and one or two others promised their support . Several preliminary meetings having bet n held , it was d ' . termined to convene a regular conclave on Tuesday , the 9 th instant . A meeting of this lodge was held on Thursday , the Utlh inst ., ni tin-. Albion , AUlvrsjaate-stiett . After having discharged their business , the W . AI . ( Bro . Claud A . Hooper ) , the ollicers , and brethren adjourned to tile Cannon-street Hotel , to celebrate their 14 th annual ball .

The musical arrangements were under the direction of that master oi the art , Bro . Dan Godfrty , jun ., and was undoubtedly greatly appreciated by the ladies and brethren , the latter of whom , as many as could , wore Alason ' c and Royal Arch clothing and jewels , which added to the picturesque dresses ol fhe ladies , produced a most pleasing effect .

At 11 . 15 , * adjournment took place for supper , after which the W . M . j > ave the toast of the evening— " The Queen and the Craft . " The I . P . M . next gave the toast of ' . ' The W . M , " and in doing so intimated that he trusted Bro . Hooper would arrange for a summer outing , as he ( Bro . Pointer ) was . particularly desirous ot meeting the

present company again . Bro . Hooper , in reply , said that the question of a summer outing would be left to the Past Masters of the lodge , and proceeded to propose the toast of " The Ladies , Past Masters , and Oflicers , " to which Mr . J . Doyle shortly replied .

Subsequently dancing was resumed and maintained until about 5 a . m ., much to the delig ht of all present . Everything was cariied out splendidly , under the energetic management of the M . C . ' s and Bro . W . Aledwin , the Secretary of the lodge . The party consisted of about 160 .

The annual dinner of the members of the Ivy Lodge of Instruction , No . 1441 , was held at the Railway Tavern , Battersea Rise , on Thursday , the gth instant , when about 40 brethren sat down to an excellent spread provided by Bro . Bradbury . The chair was occupied by the Preceptor , Bro . Hardiman , Bro . Burcham Cooper ,

Assistant Preceptor and Treasurer , in the vice-chair , and there were also present Bros . Higerty , P . M . ; Davis , P . M . ; Cowley , P . M . ; Sternberg , Barlow , Edwards , Thwaites , Horton , George , Lyle , Baker , Dupree , AI . Gill , Scroggie , Cameron , C . Wood , Wills , Knibb , Boswell , Randall , Richmond , Prince , Hall , Stegman , Bradbury Walker , and others .

Thc members testified their appreciation of the endeavours of the caterer by partaking in a hearty manner of the good things provided , and after the cloth had been removed , the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed and duly honoured , after which came the toast of" Success to the Ivy Lodge of Instruction . " The great event of the evening was the balloting for

a Life Subscribershi p to one of the Charities , which fell to the lodge of instruction itself . The following brethren contributed to the harmony of the evening : Bros . Dr . Davis , Knibb , C . Wood , Richmond , Du Pre , Prince , Hall , and Burcham Cooper , Bros . C . Wood and Richmond being deservedly encored , and we must not forget Hro . Burcham Cooper ' s

recitation of " The Bashful Alan , " a part well becoming our worth y brother . A vote of thanks was accorded the Chairman , the worth y caterer , and Bro . Richmond , who kindl y supplied the plants for decoration of the table , and several other

toasts were proposed and dul y responded to . The brethren then dispersed , one and all expressing their satisfaction of the excellence of the repast , and a most enjoyable evening came to a conclusion with " Hearty good wishes , " and success to their next annual dinner .

The annual banquet and ball of this the most successful lodge in North London took place at the Resiaurant Frascati , in Oxford-street , on Tuesday , the

14 th inst ., being the last restaurant opened by the enterprising linn of " Gordon Hotels Company , Lim ., " who deserve praise for the excellent accommodation they afford 10 those who patronise their splendid establishments .

The banquet on the present occasion was attended by upwards of 112 brethren and lad y friends , and was well served under the energetic and personal supervision of its able and courteous manager , Bru . Lambert , who certainly obtained that meed of praise from ail prese . it for nis unremitting attention throughout the whole of the proceedings , which passed off without a

single hitch , and certainly rellects the highest credit 011 Ins ability as manager , and the heartiest thanks of the Worshipful Maskr , Past Masters , and Ball Commute are due to him for his kind co-operation in making the evening so successful . 'The banquet was very ably presided over by the W . AL , Bru . L . Simon , who was well supported by Bros .

The musical arrangements were under the direction of that master oi the art , Bro . Dan Godfrty , jun ., and was undoubtedly greatly appreciated by the ladies and brethren , the latter of whom , as many as could , wore Alason ' c and Royal Arch clothing and jewels , which added to the picturesque dresses ol fhe ladies , produced a most pleasing effect .

At 11 . 15 , * adjournment took place for supper , after which the W . M . j > ave the toast of the evening— " The Queen and the Craft . " The I . P . M . next gave the toast of ' . ' The W . M , " and in doing so intimated that he trusted Bro . Hooper would arrange for a summer outing , as he ( Bro . Pointer ) was . particularly desirous ot meeting the

present company again . Bro . Hooper , in reply , said that the question of a summer outing would be left to the Past Masters of the lodge , and proceeded to propose the toast of " The Ladies , Past Masters , and Oflicers , " to which Mr . J . Doyle shortly replied .

Subsequently dancing was resumed and maintained until about 5 a . m ., much to the delig ht of all present . Everything was cariied out splendidly , under the energetic management of the M . C . ' s and Bro . W . Aledwin , the Secretary of the lodge . The party consisted of about 160 .

The annual dinner of the members of the Ivy Lodge of Instruction , No . 1441 , was held at the Railway Tavern , Battersea Rise , on Thursday , the gth instant , when about 40 brethren sat down to an excellent spread provided by Bro . Bradbury . The chair was occupied by the Preceptor , Bro . Hardiman , Bro . Burcham Cooper ,

Assistant Preceptor and Treasurer , in the vice-chair , and there were also present Bros . Higerty , P . M . ; Davis , P . M . ; Cowley , P . M . ; Sternberg , Barlow , Edwards , Thwaites , Horton , George , Lyle , Baker , Dupree , AI . Gill , Scroggie , Cameron , C . Wood , Wills , Knibb , Boswell , Randall , Richmond , Prince , Hall , Stegman , Bradbury Walker , and others .

Thc members testified their appreciation of the endeavours of the caterer by partaking in a hearty manner of the good things provided , and after the cloth had been removed , the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed and duly honoured , after which came the toast of" Success to the Ivy Lodge of Instruction . " The great event of the evening was the balloting for

a Life Subscribershi p to one of the Charities , which fell to the lodge of instruction itself . The following brethren contributed to the harmony of the evening : Bros . Dr . Davis , Knibb , C . Wood , Richmond , Du Pre , Prince , Hall , and Burcham Cooper , Bros . C . Wood and Richmond being deservedly encored , and we must not forget Hro . Burcham Cooper ' s

recitation of " The Bashful Alan , " a part well becoming our worth y brother . A vote of thanks was accorded the Chairman , the worth y caterer , and Bro . Richmond , who kindl y supplied the plants for decoration of the table , and several other

toasts were proposed and dul y responded to . The brethren then dispersed , one and all expressing their satisfaction of the excellence of the repast , and a most enjoyable evening came to a conclusion with " Hearty good wishes , " and success to their next annual dinner .

The annual banquet and ball of this the most successful lodge in North London took place at the Resiaurant Frascati , in Oxford-street , on Tuesday , the

14 th inst ., being the last restaurant opened by the enterprising linn of " Gordon Hotels Company , Lim ., " who deserve praise for the excellent accommodation they afford 10 those who patronise their splendid establishments .

The banquet on the present occasion was attended by upwards of 112 brethren and lad y friends , and was well served under the energetic and personal supervision of its able and courteous manager , Bru . Lambert , who certainly obtained that meed of praise from ail prese . it for nis unremitting attention throughout the whole of the proceedings , which passed off without a

single hitch , and certainly rellects the highest credit 011 Ins ability as manager , and the heartiest thanks of the Worshipful Maskr , Past Masters , and Ball Commute are due to him for his kind co-operation in making the evening so successful . 'The banquet was very ably presided over by the W . AL , Bru . L . Simon , who was well supported by Bros .
