Z ., " was fluently proposed by the I . P . Z . In the course of his remarks he said that Comp .

Harris , from the date of his exaltation in the Old Jerusalem Chapter , had worked well and worthily in every minor office , and he felt confident that having arrived at the First Principal ' s chair , he ( the M . E . Z ) would do the work of that high position equally as well . The M . E . Z . having replied , gave " The Second and Third Principals , " to which toast Comps . Hardy and F . Smith responded . The latter made an excellent speech .

Royal Arch.

He mentioned the circumstance that in 1 S 74 and 1 S 75 he served the office of First Principal , and he believed that he discharged the duties of that office to the satisfaction of the chapter . He , however , little thought that he should be called upon in 1 S 91 to take the Third chair . He would endeavour to discharge the responsibilities of that position to the best of his ability , but if he should be a little " rusty "

he trusted that the companions would overlook it . " The Past Principals" followed , to which toast all the Past Principals replied , the speeches of Comps . Kimpton , Moss , and Cleghorne being exceedingly good . In giving "The Health of the S . E . and Treasurer" the M . E . Z . spoke in the most flattering terms of the services of those companions . The toast having been warmly received , Comps . Davis

and Harfeld replied . The latter said that the funds for the first time for many years showed a small balance on the wrong side ; however , he hoped that in the course of the coming session that state of things would be altered . "The Health of the Officers " terminated the proceedings . The M . E . Z ., in addition to generously providing a beautiful floral display , had engaged a staff of instrumental and vocal artistes .

Janitor . A Past Principal ' s jewel was presented to Comp . Kimpton , and the report of the Audit Committee was received and adopted . The chapter was then closed , and the companions adjourned to the banquet , which was well served . The usual toasts received full justice . "The Health of the M . E .
