KINGSTON-ON-THAMES—Brownrigg Lodge ( No . 163 S ) . —The installation meeting of this lodge was held by special dispensation at the Albany Hall , on Wednesday , the 15 th inst ., and the great number of brethren in attendance proved the wisdom of the removal to such a commodious place for the special occasion . At the opening there were thirty present , and lodge closed in the presence of no less than fifty-five . There being raisings and

initiations , the W . M ., Bro . J . VV . Moorman , P . G . A . D . C , opened at 3 . 45 p . m ., assisted by his officers , viz : Bros . J . Drewett , S . W . ; G . Moorman , J . W . ; W . Drewett , S . D . ; H . W . Humphreys , J . D . ; and F . Montague , acting I . G . The last post was afterwards taken by Bro . W . Youldon , I . G ., who was late . After the formal business , Bros . Trott and Bultz were raised to the Sublime Degree of M . M . The ballot havins

previously proved favourable for Messrs . McCall Chambers and G . Allen , they were introduced and initiated in the prescribed manner . A return to the ordinary business was then necessary so as to receive the report of the Auditors , from which it appeared that there was a balance in hand of over £ 30 , with over £ 40 yet due . Ten guineas were voted to the Girls' School , and the report received and adopted . Bro . Youldon

, P . M ., then presented Bro . John Drewett to the W . M . as the elected of the lodge to fill the chair of K . S . during the ensuing year , and the ceremony of installation proceeded . The Board of Installed Masters consisted of 15 brethren . In proper course the installation was completed ; the saluting was very effective , Bro . F . J . V . Honeywell , P . P . G . O . Surrey and Middlesex , presiding at the organ . The new W . M . invested his officers as follows

Bros . G . Moorman , S . W . ; VV . Drewett , J . W . ; Humphreys , S . D . ; Montague , J . D . ; Oldridge , P . M ., Treas . ; Laurence , P . M ., Sec ; W . Youldon , jun ., I . G . ; F . J . Hunt , Org . ; LocUett , D . C ; Taylor , Bowers , and j . Home , Stewards . Bro . VV . Lane , who has been Tyler of the lodge since its formation , was again entrusted with the badge of that office amid the plaudits of the brethren , by whom he is held in high esteem .

The Worshipful Master then presented to the I . P . M . a very handsome P . M . ' s jewel , in recognition of his year of office , and warmly complimented him not only on the way in which he had filled the chair during the past year , but also upon the admirable and impressive manner in which he had installed him ( the VV . M . ) that day . The Immediate Past Master briefly acknowledged the gift of the lodge , and tendered his thanks to the brethren

in general , and the officers particularly , for the aid they had given him while in the chair . Bro . Walters , P . P . G . D . Middlesex , solicited the votes of the brethren for the case of A . H . Smithers at the forthcoming election of the Boys' School , and subsequently obtained several promises of support . After a perfect volley of " Hearty good wishes , " the lodge was closed in due form , and the brethren separated ,

only to re-assemble at the Sun Hotel , where , around the festive board , the well-known hospitality of the Brownrigg Lodge was freely dispensed . Here the company numbered 64 , and then the W . M . and other brethren had had " letters of regret" at the last moment . Bros . Buckland and Lane , P . M . ' s of the lodge , were unfortunately unable to attend , but sent fraternal greetings . The banquet was excellently served under the direction

of Bro . John Bond , and as the W . M . had wisely kept the toast list within the narrowest possible limits , and used but few , though happily chosen words in his appeals , there was ample time for listening to the entertainment given by those of musical gifts . Bro . McCall Chambers is a very great acquisition to the lodge , and he readily exercised his ability . Mr . E . J . D . Causton ' s musical and mimical sketches gave immense pleasure , and those who had to leave to catch the

11 o clock train did so with regret . The Tyler ' s toast brought to a close one of the most pleasant and enjoyable evenings yet passed by No . 1638 . The visiting brethren included Bros . F . Reports Of Masonic Meetings.
