For the Grand Ollicers hc could only say one thing—they believed the Craft was loyal to all its rulers , and if the Grand Ollicers came amongst the brethren they did so to do their duty , and to do what they could for the good of the Order . What little any of them had done Jto help the installation meeting all were pleased to do , and they were delighted if they had assisted in bringing it to a successful issue . Dr . Stewart Brown , P . D . G . D . C , said it devolved upon him to propose "The Health of their newly-installed W . M . " To every one connected with St . applause . In the 28 years since hc ( Bro . Brown ) joined the hospital the name of Bro . Lane had aiwavs aroused enthusiasm . On the present occasion it was enthusiasm of a different character . On other occasions it was for something in keeping with their own particular work , but that day it was lor Masonic work dominated by good fellowship and Charity . As the Installing Master had kindly said , the W . M . had made his mark in both those categories . This was the third occasion on which it had fallen to his lot to propose this toast . They were deprived of the presence of the first Deputy Master of

the lodge , Bro . Owen , who was engaged at the Royal College ol Surgeons , and the I . P . M ., Bro . Wilbraham , was in South Africa . He personally thanked all those who had take the trouble to attend to honour the W . M . liro . The toast having been accorded musical honours , Bro . J . Ernest Lane , W . M ., said the words of his eloquent brother , the acting I . P . M ., had taken the wind out of his sails . He went out early in the evening to prepare a speech , but unfortunately he had forgotten it . He was initiated in a lodge which had always been closely allied with St . Mary ' s Lodge—the Hampton Court Lodge . He had there learnt the way that ) Masonic work should be done , and as he hoped it would be done in this lodge . He had had a

Hc had done his best in a humble way , and hoped to do the best he could for the success of the lodge .
