Wilkinson , P . M ., vvas unanimously elected a joining member . The installation vvas then proceeded vvith , and Bro . J . Drewett , P . P . A . G . P ., vvasduly installed into the chair as W . M . for the ensuing year by his
younger brother , Bro . W . Drewett , P . G . Steward . The following officers were appointed and invested : Bros . Colburn , S . W . ; Haywood , J . VV . ; Long , P . M ., Treas . ; Elsam , P . The addresses were delivered by Bros . Chapman ,
P . M . ; W . Drewett , I . P . M . j and Elsam , P . M ., Sec . Bro . F . West , D . P . G . M ., said that , as he should have to leave early for London , and should therefore not have another opportunity of addressing the brethren , he wished to assure them of the pleasure it had afforded him to witness the installation of Bro . J . Drewett by his younger brother . It vvas a rare occurrence in Masonry , and vvas a
matter for congratulation by the members of that Iodge that they had two brothers so respected and esteemed as the W . M . and the I . P . M . He vvas proud to see the W . M . supported by such a large array of the purple of the province . The W . M . well deserved that support , and he wished him a happy and prosperous year of office . The W . M . said he regretted that their D . P . G . M . would
have to leave early , for he was in the habit , when addressing them , of giving them good and sound advice . He ( the W . M . ) should not easily forget the address delivered by Bro . West at the last Provincial Grand Lodge meeting , when he urged the necessity of strictly inquiring into the case of every candidate proposed for initiation . He thanked the D . P . G . M . for the advice he always gave , and hoped it
would be carried out in the province . Other business having been transacted . the lodge was closed . The brethren then partook of an excellent banquet , served under the superintendence of the worthy host , Bro . Cliffordjjand at the conclusion of which the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured . "The Provincial Grand Master and the Provincial Grand
Officers " vvas proposed by the W . M ., who referred to the absence of the Prov . G . M . abroad , and the hopes they all entertained of his speedy recovery . They had had the D . P . G . M . vvith them that evening , and had been pleased to listen to his remarks . There was a good attendance of Prov . Grand Officers present , and he should couple the names of Bros . Chapman , P . G . S . B ., and Moorman , P . P . G . S . B ., vvith
the toast . Bro . Chapman , P . G . Std . Br ., in reply , said that having but recently appointed to office , a lengthy reply vvould not be expected from him . His experience was limited , but he was of opinion that the greater portion of the work in the
province devolved upon the D . P . G . M . and the P . G . Sec . The Provincial Grand Officers vvould be at all times ready to do their best for the benefit of the province . Bro . Moorman also briefly replied . Bro . W . Drewett , I . P . M ., said he rose to propose a toast which he vvas sure vvould be welcomed on that and
every occasion on which the lodge met during the next 12 months . It vvas " The Health of their VV . Master . " Through circumstances with which they were all familiar it vvould not be becoming for him to say much respecting Bro . John Drewett , the W . M ., for the brethren knew the position they stood in respecting each other . He would , however , say that if the lodge did not have a successful
year it would not be the fault of the VV . M ., for if there was one brother who had endeavoured , and successfully , to do his duty as a Mason in the fullest sense of the word , it was Bro . John Drewett , the newly-installed W . M . of their lodge . He asked the brethren to join in wishing the VV . M . health and strength to carry out his duties in the manner in which he vvas so well qualified to perform them .
Bro . John Drewett , P . P . A . G . P ., W . M ., in response , said he felt himself to be in a difficult position that evening . They all knew that as an old Kingstonian he had tried to live with his fellow men ou the best of terms , and that , therefore , he vvas considerably gratified by the position in which he was placed . " Deeds , and not words , " was the motto he tried to act upon . He hoped that during the
years he had lived amongst them he had made many friends and no enemies . He little thought when first connected vvith the lodge that he should so soon occupy the chair , but his rapid advance was owing to the kindness of the P . M . ' s and brethren . He trusted he should be successful in his efforts to maintain the traditions of their lodge and of Freemasonry in general . Should there be
any little matter which did not meet vvith the approval of any of the brethren , he hoped they would not hesitate to mention it , for it vvas easy to make a mistake , and easier to continue it . It was pleasing to see the fathers of the . odge always in their places , but that evening there vvas one face missing . He referred to their late Secretary , Bro . Squire , who had . sent a letter excusing himself on account of illness , but who vvas with them in heart , for there could
not possibly be a better Mason . It vvas a great pleasure for a young Mason like himself to feel that anything he might do while he vvas W . M . would be satisfactory , and he hoped that vvould prove to be the case . He should do all he could to follow in the steps of his brother . He had listened with pleasure and emotion whilst a brother was singing "My Old Friend John , " and he hoped the sentiment of that song vvould be in his heart for many years .
Reports Of Masonic Meetings.
"The Initiate" vvas next given in cordial terms by the W . M ., who referred to the fact that the initiate had three brothers and a father occupying positions in the Craft . Bro . Henderson , in appropriate terms , returned thanks for the kindly reception accorded him . The W . M . proposed "The I . P . M . and Installing
Masters , " and said he felt a double honour in introducing that toast , as the I . P . M . was his brother in the flesh as well as in Freemasonry . He omitted to present the I . P . M . vvith the jewel voted to him in the lodge-room , but he vvould now ask Bro . Wm . Drewett , I . P . M ., to stand up whilst he pinned it to his breast . The jewel vvas presented in recognition of the manner in which he had carried out his
duties during the past year , and which had given complete satisfaction to the members . Everything had gone smoothly during the I . P . M . 's term of office in the chair , and it was therefore a pleasure to ask him to accept the jewel . The brethren wished the LP . M . many years to wear it , and hoped his pleasant year in the chair vvould never fade from his memory . Bro . W . Drewett , P . M ., P . G . S ., said that the jewel
presented to him vvould always be a pleasing reminder of that evening and of the years he had spent in that lodge . It was his mother lodge , and he had never regretted joining it , but hoped it would continue in the same happy condition . He was fortunate , at an early period of his Masonic career , to obtain office , and had made rapid progress to the chair . The memory of his year of office vvould be present with him for many years . He thanked them heartily for the handsome jewel and for their kindly reception of the toast . Bro . John Hughes , P . M ., 901 , replied for "TheVisitors , " and returned grateful thanks for the reception accorded them . Bro . Elsam had many times mentioned this lodge to him vvith affection , and from his remarks , he concluded that it vvas no ordinary lodge . He found that Bro . Elsam had in no way flattered the Iodge , for he was gratified to find that the working of the installation ceremony had far
surpassed his expectations . This vvas his first visit , but he hoped to be with them on many future occasions . With regard to the hospitality shown the visitors , his thanks were due , for it left nothing to be desired . He felt sure that his connection vvith the Frederick West Lodge , in which he hoped to take the chair in May , accounted for his being selected to reply for this toast , but he should be happy to
welcome any member of the Dobie Lodge on that occasion . Bro . Humphreys , W . M ., 163 S , said he rose with pleasure to respond , having served under the W . M . for some years past . It had given him great satisfaction to visit the lodge and vvitnesss the installation of a VV . M . of whom the members vvould be proud . Bros . Hogg , 1 S 72 J Gabb , P . M . go 2 j and Dodd , P . M .
1223 , also replied . " The Treasurer , Secretary , and Past Masters " was next honoured , the task of replying falling upon Bros . Long , P . M ., Treas . j Elsam , P . M ., Sec ; and Veal , P . M ., who assured the W . M . of the support he could rely on from the P . M . ' s during his term of office , congratulated him on attaining the chair , and wished him a prosperous year as
the head of the Dobie Lodge . " The Officers " vvas given by the W . M ., who referred to the excellent services rendered by the brethren in office , and especially thanked Bro . Wilkinson for undertaking the somewhat thankless office of Steward , he having been elected that evening as a joining member .
The Officers having responded , the Tyler's toast closed the proceedings . Bro . Honeywell , P . P . G . Org ., presided in his usual brilliant style at the pianoforte , and several brethren contributed to the success of the evening by well rendered songs and recitations .

's from most of the neighbouring lodges , and a large number of visiting brethren also attended , to show by their presence

' s jewel of a unique design and of rare valuewhich vvas presented to him by
, Bro . Fulford , W . M ., vvith appropriate remarks . Bro . Pike , in returning thanks for that mark of the brethren ' s esteem , said he should prize it above all the jewels that he possessed , and although he had been praised for doing his work well , still he should not relinquish his
energies towards Freemasonry , and that lodge in particular . The above-mentioned jewel was handed round to the brethren , and was much admired , being a handsome square and problem of frosted gold , and highly burnished edges , with three magnificent bars of frosted gold , relieved with burnished edges , and raised letters . It was manufactured by Bro . George Kenning , 47 , Bridge-street , Manchester .

M ., Sec ; Levy , S . D . ; Edgell , J . D . j Honeywell , P . P . G . O . Middlesex and Surrey , Org . j Bond , I . G . j Marshall , D . C ; Wilkinson , P . M ., Steward ; and Gilbert , Tv'er .
GOSPORT . —Gosport Lodge ( No . 903 ) .-The installation meeting of this lodge vvas held in the Masonic Rooms on the Sth instant , and proved the most successful gathering for several years past . The officers and members mustered in force . _ The Prov . G . Secretary , the W . M . 's from most of the neighbouring lodges , and a large number of visiting brethren also attended , to show by their presence
