Rosher and Woodhouse were raised to the Degree of M . M ., after which ceremony the ballot was taken for Mr . Frank Richardson , and , proving unanimous in his favour , he , being in attendance , was
initiated . The impressive ceremony of initiation was ably and eloquently rendered by the retiring Master . Bro . Henry Times was then duly installed . The W . M . proceeded to appoint and invest his officers , addressing them according to the Emulation working , as follows : Bros . J . R . Drake , S . W . ; E . J . Wilberforce , j . W , ; W . G . Lemon , Treas . ; R . C . Driver , Sec . ; Baggallay , S . D . ; F . E . Rosher ,
J . D . ; C Belton , D . C ; Alfred Crabb , I . G . ; Herbert Powell , Org . ; and Howard Rosher , Steward . At the conclusion of the ceremony , the W . suitable terms . The report of the Treasurer having been read , and agreed to , the lodge was closed , and the large company adjourned to a banquet . The customary loyal toasts having been proposed and received in the usual manner , the W . M . gave ihe toast of " The Grand Officers , Present and Past . " Bro . Col . Money , P . G . M . was glad to find so many of his own province members of this time-honoured lodge . Bro . W . S . Hoyte , G . O ., also responded , and referred in feeling terms to his long friendship with the W . M . and the pleasure he had in seeing him installed in the chair of King Solomon . Bro . Bush , I . P . M ., proposed "The Health of the W . M .. " and predicted a prosperous and happy year of
office under his rule . Few members had worked so assiduously during the past few years as Bro . Times had done . The toast was received with great enthusiasm . Bro . Henry Times , W . M ., briefly responding , said that he only had the welfare of the lodge at heart , and proved it by reminding the brethren that of the _ 13 candidates who had been initiated subsequently to his joining , no less than
11 had been introduced by himself . The toast of "The Initiate" was proposed by Bro . Aldridge , P . M ., who referred in graceful chosen words to the interest the candidate had evinced during the recent ceremony , and now as he had already become an ornament to his profession as a barrister , he ifelt there would be little doubt he would also become an ornament to his
mother lodge . The Initiate ' s song was then sung by Bro . Richard Eve , accompanied by the Grand Organist of England . Bro . Frank Richardson , in response , made an eloquent speech , remarking that he was much to be envied in being initiated in such an ancient lodge and upon such a distinguished occasion . The beautiful ceremony had deeply impressed him . A ., ... % > 1 " tl TM . II .-l . l _ C it-t ~* L _ II ine nlnext — ine 01 inc
