The GREAT CHANCELLOR : The report having been adopted , I beg to move , as a matter of form , that a donation of 100 guineas from the Benevolent Fund of this Great Priory be placed on your lordship ' s list as Chairman of the approaching Festival of the Mark Benevolent Fund . The GREAT TREASURER seconded the motion .

The GRAND MASTER : I suppose , brethren , I must put the proposal to the meeting . I am really very much obliged to you . As you know , I take a V reat deal ol interest in this Fund , and I shall be p leased if Great Priory will confirm the vote recommended by the Council . I can assure you it will be faithfully applied . I ask you , brethren , to now confirm it . ( Cries of "All . " ) The ACTING GREAT MARSHAL announced that the V . E . Knight the Earl of Lathom , G . The trumpets having sounded , the V . E . Provincial Prior for Lancashire entered , attended by his Banner Bearer and Sword Bearer , and was conducted to the foot of the throne . After the M . E . and Supreme G . M . had received his homage he was conducted to his stall , and proclaimed and saluted according to ancient custom .

The ACTING GREAT MARSHAL announced that the V . E . Knight Lieut .-General John Fletcher Owen , K C . T ., was in attendance for the purpose of paying homage on his appointment as Provincial Prior for the Mediterranean . The M . E . and Supreme Grand Master directed that he should be admitted .

The trumpets having sounded , the V . E . Provincial Prior for the Mediterranean entered Great Priory , attended by his acting Banner Bearer and Sword Bearer , and was conducted to the foot of the throne . After the M . E . and Supreme Grand Master had accepted his homage , he was conducted to his stall , proclaimed and saluted according to ancient custom . The GRAND MASTER having announced that the next business was the election of a Great Treasurer

, The GREAT REGISTRAR said : u have much pleasure in proposing that the V . E . Knight Ralp h Clutton be re-elected . He has served us faithfully and for many years past , and during that period he has brought our funds from a very small amount to a very considerable sum of money . I do not think we can do better than re-elect him . The GREAT CHANCELLOR : I beg to second that motion .

The GRAND MASTER : Before I put this proposition I should like to add a word of my own . I am sure we ought to congratulate ourselves on being able to secure the services of our brother Ralph Clutton . I remember in times past when he used to complain that he had not—to use his own expressive phrase—two sixpences to rub together . ( Laughter . ) Now our funds are in a prosperous state , and that they are in such a flourishing state is largely owing to the exertions of our Brother Clutton . ( Applause . ) The motion was agreed to amid great applause .

The GRAND MASTER , addressing the Treasurer elect , said : I thank you for your services in the past , and hope you will be able to continue them for many years . The TREASURER ELECT : Most Eminent and Supreme Grand Master , I thank you very much for all the kind words you have spoken about me , and all present lor the way in which they have received them . I can only say that I will do all I can , and to the best of my ability , to secure the improvement of this Order .

The ACTING GREAT MARSHAL announced the V . E . Knight the Earl of Lathom , G . C . T ., who had been nominated by the G . Master as Great Seneschal , was in attendance . A deputation was then appointed and requested to retire and attend his lordship .
