Pohl , 13 S 1 . The lodge vvas opened in due form , and the minutes of the last meeting read and confirmed . The ceremony of initiation being announced , and Bro . Rankin having offered himself as a candidate , was initiated , the W . M . giving the charge . The lodge vvas opened in the Second Degree . The ceremony of raising being announced , and Bro . Harvey having answered the usual questions , vvas entrusted .

The lodge was opened in the Third Degree , and Bro . Harvey duly raised to the Degree of M . M . The lodge vvas resumed to the First Degree , and Bro . H . The chapter vvas opened , and the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed . The ceremony of exaltation vvas rehearsed , Comp . Phillips personating the candidate . Hearty votes of thanks were accorded to the H . and J . for rehearsing the duties of their respective offices , it being the first time in this chapter of instruction . Comp . Mclntyre North was elected M . E . Z . for the next meeting , and the chapter vvas closed .

According to advices from Richmond , Virginia , U . S . A ., Mrs _ . Peary ' s mother has received information from her son-in-law announcing that he and his fellow arctic explorers were in excellent trim . They had built themselves a house , and had 60 tons oi coal and 20 oil stoves . The boats , too , are in capital condition . Lieutenant Peary is in good health and needs no aid . They expect to return home in November , 1 S 92 .

Hearty votes of thanks were accorded to the H . and J . for rehearsing the duties of their respective offices , it being the first time in this chapter of instruction . Comp . Mclntyre North was elected M . E . Z . for the next meeting , and the chapter vvas closed .

According to advices from Richmond , Virginia , U . S . A ., Mrs _ . Peary ' s mother has received information from her son-in-law announcing that he and his fellow arctic explorers were in excellent trim . They had built themselves a house , and had 60 tons oi coal and 20 oil stoves . The boats , too , are in capital condition . Lieutenant Peary is in good health and needs no aid . They expect to return home in November , 1 S 92 .

In the course of more than a three hours' sitting four of these cases were deferred , and one case was dismissed . The remainder were relieved vvith a total of £ . 575 r one case being recommended to Grand Lodge for i ' 75 . There were four recommendations to the Grand Master for . £ 40 each , and three for £ 30 each . Nine grants of ^ 20 each were made , two of £ 15 each , three of ; £ io each , and two of ^ 5 each .
