ISLINGTON LODGE ( No . 1471 ) . —About thirty members of the above lodge of instruction met _ at the Moorgate Tavern , on Tuesday evening , the 15 th inst , to hold the annual supper of the lodge , under the presidency of Bro . J . L . Mather , P . P . G . D . C Herts , the Preceptor . On the cloth being withdrawn , the usual loyal toasts were given by the Chairman and duly responded to . Bro . Binckes ,

the Secretary of the Boys' School , replying to the toast of "The Charities , " made an eloquent appeal on their behalf , observing that from the frequency of his utterances on this subject a great deal of ingenuity would be required on his part to say anything new . He could only reiterate what he had so often said before , and lay the claims of the several

Charities before the brethren for support with all the _ earnestness he could display , asking those who had assisted to continue their efforts in the cause , and those who had not yet contributed to give the matter their earnest consideration . Bro . Bincke ' s remarks were listened to with much attention by the brethren present .

ROYAL COMMEMORATION LODdE ( No . 15 S 5 ) . —At the ordinary weekly meeting of this lodge , held on Monday , the 31 st ult ., at the Railway Hotel , Highstreet , Putney , at eight o ' clock , the installation ceremony was worked by Bro . CRUSADERS LODGE ( No . 1677 ) . — The adjourned annual meeting of this lodge was held at St . Simpson , and special thanks were due to him for the able manner in which he had managed the whole of the business duties of the evening . This being an off night the officers were to be elected for

the ensuing year , the revised bye-laws were to be discussed , and other business had to be transacted which required great tact . 'This was all done to the greatest satisfaction of all present . Bro . A . E . Gladwell was unanimously appointed W . M . for the 17 th inst ., and appointed officers in rotation . The Secretary was ordered to get the revised bye-laws printed and distributed to the members

on the night of the supper if posssible , which will take place on the first Thursday in December . Bro . Cummings , Preceptor ; G . IT . Calderwood , Treas . ; H . Halliday , Sec . ; were unanimously dieted for the ensuing year . Bro . Cummings , who is going up as Steward at the annual festival in aid of the funds of the Royal Masonic Benevolent

Institution for the aged people , on this evening instituted a ballot association for the purpose of enabling members of this lodge to become Life Subscribers or Life Governors of either of the Masonic Charities by weekly payment of one shilling , a ballot to take place as soon as £ 5 5 s . is subscribed . This ending the business , lodge was closed in due form and adjourned .

E _ . of the chapter previous to its somewhat decay , in a very impressive speech , presented the old minute and other books belonging to the chapter , which had been in his father ' s possession since they were committed to his care ; and the same ivere graciously accepted .

A vote of thanks was then passed to Comp . Stanley for his kind gift and expressions . The companions then adjourned to the bar . queting-room , where an excellent supper had been prepared , at the conclusion of which the usual Royal Arch , loyal , and Masonic toasts were given and duly acknowledged . Clayton's , Duke ' s Head , 79 , Whitechapel-road , E ., held its usual meeting on Monday evening , the 21 st inst ., commencing at seven o ' clock p . m . 'The were present Comps . T . J . The chapter having been opened , omp . Macdonald worked the ceremony of exaltation , Comp . Robson being candidate . The very able manner in which the entire work is done by all the companions is a very enjoyable feature at this chapter of instruction , and must be witnessed to be appreciated . Chapter was closed in due form , and adjourned until the first Monday in December . There will not be a meeting here next Monday in consequence of several of the companions having undertaken to work Sections at the Tredegar Lodge on the 2 Sth inst .

The toast of " The W . M . " was warmly proposed by Bro . Thrupp , in which he expressed a hope that Bro Hopwood would soon be restored to his accustomed good health . Bro . Hammond having replied upon behalf of the absent W . M ., then gave " The Advancee . " Bro . Briggs in response stated that he had been highly impressed with the

ceremony of his advancement , and he hoped in time not only to be better acquainted with the highly interesting and instructive Degree of a M . M . ( Hear . ) This toast having been warmly received , the recipient ot the honour made a most fluent and exhaustive -speech , in which he expressed the great gratification it had afforded

him in being present that day at their meeting . He said that the members of the Mount Calvary Encampment had reason to be proud of their prosperous and distinguished chapter , more especially as it was one of the oldest in the Order . In conclusion he said that he had enjoyed himself so thoroughly that he should look forward with pleasure to time when he should meet them again . " The Health of the M . W . S . " was proposed by 111 . Bro . Paas , and this toast

having been duly honoured , Bro . Dr . 'Ace briefly acknowledged the compliment , and then gave "The Newlv-Perfected Brethren . " Bros . Poore and Basnett having replied , "The Past Most Wise Sovereign" was then given , and Bros . R . Stewart and D . M . Dewar having said a few words in response , the proceedings terminated . The chair was taken by the Supreme Magus , Frater Woodman , the vice-chair by Frater Entwistle , Chief Adept of Lancashire . The R . W . Frater H . G . Buss was installed in the chair of the college in due form by the Supreme Magus , after which Bro . G . Francis Legg , proposed by

DARING BURGLARY AT BRO . SIR W . W . BURRELL'S , P . G . M . SUSSEX .

An audacious burglary was committed at West Grinstead , Park House , the seat of Bro . Sir W . VV . Burrell , M . P ., P . G . M . Sussex , on Friday night , the iSth inst . The entry was effected by the burglars by forcing the sash of a window two stories from the base , and which opened into Bro . Sir Walter's dressing-room in the east front of the house . Among the valuables missing were found to be a large diamond and ruby gold pin , one Masonic gold pin , a Masonh ; set of gold studs and links , one emerald and pearl stud , one set of ruby and diamond studs ,

one silver snuffbox with crest , one pair of gold eyeglasses , and fourpence in coppers . In their hurry ( being probably disturbed by the servants ) the thieves overlooked a dressing-case with silver fittings and a large gold horseshoe pin lying on the table . The value of the missing articles have been roughly estimated at £ 50 .
