The next regular monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys will take place at Freemasons' Hall on Saturday , the 3 rd prox .

The Moravian Chapter , No . 387 , has , on the 16 th November , the third time within the last 10 years , unanimously elected Bro . John Ramsden Riley as its First Principal . Bro . S . S . Williams has been re-elected M . W .

Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Ohio , and Bro . John D . Caldwell , Grand Secrelary . Bro . Earl Granville will be the principal guest at the Eighty Club at their next dinner , which will be held

on Tuesday , the 13 th prox . Bro . Lord Mayor De Keyser presided for the first time in the Court of Common Council on Thursday , the 17 th inst ., and was loudly cheered on entering by the assembled members of the Court .

Bro . J . Morgan Howard , Q . C , M . P . for the Dulwich division of Camberwell , has been appointed Judge of the County Court in Cornwall , and as a consequence has vacated his seat in the House of Commons .

Bro . General Lord Wolseley , J . G . W ., has consented to unveil a statue at Liverpool to General Earle , who was killed in one of the engagements during the Khartoum Expedition . The ceremony will take place on Friday , the 1 Sth prox .

On the 13 th October last , the new lodge room in the Massina Clerk Building in Newhaven , Connecticut , was solemnly consecrated to the purposes of Freemasonry by Bro . H . H . Greene , M . W . G . M . Connecticut . A banquet followed after , at which fully 100 guests sat down , and the usual toasts proper to such an occasion were duly honoured .

The Princess of Wales and her three daughters arrived at Sheerness from the Continent on Saturday last , on board the Royal yacht Osborne . They proceeded at once by train to London , and were met at Charing Cross Station by the Prince of Wales , who accompanied them to Marlborough House .

We regret to record the death , on Sunday evening last , of the Countess of March , wife of Bro . the Earl of March , P . S . G . Warden of England , eldest son of the Duke of Richmond and Gordon . Her ladyship was the second wife of our noble brother , to whom she was married in July , 1 SS 2 .

The health of Bro . the Hon . D . Plunket , M . P ., her Majesty ' s First Commissioner of Works , has been so far restored that on Sunday last he was able , for the first time for nearly six months , to take a short carriage drive . He has since left for the South of England in order still further to recruit his strength . We trust that at no distant date he will have entirely recovered .

On Monday evening , 14 th inst ., the Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Durham , Sir Hedworth Williamson , Bart ., paid an official visit with his officers , present and past , to the St . Hilda's Lodge , No . 240 , Freemasons' Hall , Ingham-street , South Shields , of which the W . M . is Bro . John Aydon Hall . The Prov . Grand

Master was accompanied by Bros . J . H . Turnbull , P I G VV Robert Hudson , P . G . S . B . Eng ., P . G . Sec ; J . J . Clay ' , P . G . D . of C ; and a number of other officers . There was a veiy large attendance , and the P . G . M . presided , took part in the proceedings of the lodge , and afterwards addressed the W . M . and brethren assembled . He received a very cordial

reception . On Friday evening , the iSth inst ., the meeting of the General and Subordinate Committees ' of the annual ball for the West Lancashire Educational Institution was held at the Masonic Hall , Hope-street . During the evening a very pleasing presentation was quietly made ; by the members present to Bro . H . M . MolyneuxPM 155

Molyneux responded in suitable terms .

IHE LATE BRO . HYDE PULLEN . — We notice amongst the many candidates for election to the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution in May next the cime of tlie widow of the late Bro . William Hyde Pullen , Past Grand Sword Bearer , and Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master for the Isle of Wight . We much regret that there

should be any necessity for Mrs . Pullen to ask for such help , but we feel convinced , on the other hand , that her case will meet with a large and influential support . Bro . Hyde Pullen was too well known as a working Mason to nr-ed any eulogy at our hands . He was indefati gable in his zeal , perfect as a ritualist , and agreeable and genial as a companion ; wherever Masonic business had to be transacted assistance in Masonic work

or required , Bro . Pullen was always ready and wM ' ng to a d . 'The Masons who personally knew the late Bro . Pullen are legion , and they will , doubtless , do all in their power to support the candidature ot his widow , but we would commend the case to all , both as deserving in itself and also as a fitting tiibute to the memory of one who was a faithful member of the Craft for nearl y half-a-century .

Bro . the Earl of Dunraven has granted remissions of rents on his Limerick estates to the extent of 30 per cent , on judicial rents . The yacht Sunbeam , with Bro . Lord Brasseyon board , arrived at the Cape de Verde Islands on Saturday last , and may be expected shortly to reach England .

Bro the Marquis of Head fort , S . G . Warden of Ireland , and the Marchioness of Headfort have left Headfort House for a stay of a few weeks in England . Bros , the Right Hon . Hugh C . E . Childers-, M . P ., and the Earl of Onslow _ are among those who have been recently addressing political meetings in different parts of the country .

Several deputations had interviews with Bro . Baron Henry de Worms , M . P ., Secretary to the Board of Trade , on the subject of the Sugar Bounties , on Wednesday . Bro , Earl Granville attended and addressed a meeting of the Liberals of the several constituencies into

which Leeds is divided , tne members representing those constituencies being also present , and taking part in the proceedings . At the Fat Cattle Show which was opened in the Agricultural Hall , Norwich , on the 17 th inst ., her Majesty obtained first prize in one of the cattle classes , and the Prince of Wales a similar award in one of the sheep classes .

Bro . the Earl and Countess of Dalhousie , who have returned from New York , after a long tour in the United States , are detained at Havre , owing to the illness on the Countess , whose symptoms , though severe , are reported to be favourable .

At the installation meeting of the Ebury Lodge , No . 134 S , held at the Criterion , Piccadilly , on Tuesday , the 22 nd inst ., Bro . Harry Fincham was installed as W . M . For the ensuing year in the presence of a large number of members and visiting brethren .

M . of the Royal Jubilee Lodge , 72 , and several membeas , also members of the Robert Burns Lodge , No . 25 , were present .

The Prince of Wales presided at a meeting of his Council held at the Duchy of Cornwall Offices , Buckingham Gate , on Saturday last . On Sunday , Bro . the Maharajah of Kuch Behar , P . G . W . England , and the Maharanee lunched with the Prince and Princess of Wales at Marlborough House .

The Prince of Wales left Marlborough House on Monday afternoon , on a visit to Bro . Tyssen Amhurst , M . P ., at Didlington Hall , Brandon , Norfolk , where a number of distinguished guests have been invited to meet his Royal _ Highness , and whence he will return to London this ( Friday ) afternoon .

Monday , the 21 st inst ., was the 47 th anniversary of the birth of the Imperial Crown Princess of Germany , Princess Royal of Great Britain , who was born on the 21 st November , 1 S 40 , and married the Imperial Crown Prince , then Prince Frederick William of Prussia , in January , 1 S 5 S . The event was celebrated in the usual fashion at Windsor , a Royal salute being fired at 1 p . m . in the Long

Walk . Application has been made to the properauthorities for the formation ° of a new Masonic lodge , to be held at the Castle Hotel , East Molesey , Surrey , and named after the Deputy Prov . G . M . of Surrey . The petition of the founders has been granted , and the ceremony

attaching to the opening of a lodge in Ihis Order will be conducted towards the end of December . The Arnold Lodge , which was established at the Bell Inn , East Molesey , about five years ago , will shortly remove to Mr , Mayo ' s , as Mr . Oxford-, street , Liverpool , in his 55 th year . Deceased was for many years an active officer of the 19 'h L . R . V . ( Press Guards ) , and during his connection with that corps he evinced the liveliest interest in its welfare , as , indeed , in the auxiliary force generally . He was a P . M . of the Croxteth United Service Lodge , and also held Provincial

Grand rank in West Lancashire . Bro . Capt . Newman took a active part in the furtherance of the beneficent woik of the Dental Hospital , Mount Pleasant , and on his retirement from the honorary appointment which long attached him to that Institution he was presented with a very substantial testimonial in recognition of the excellent work which he had done .

The ceremonies of consecration and installation will be rehearsed by VV . Bro . F . Binckes , P . G . Std . Br ., on Monday , the 28 th inst ., at the Railway Hotel , Highstreet , Putney .

Bro . Bradley , Prov . G . Sec . Berks and Bucks , writes to make a correction in our report of the consecration of the Dene Lodge last week . We stated that the roll of lodges in the province amounted to eighteen ; we should have said twenty-one . Bro . the Earl of Onslow , Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies has been appointed a delegate at the Conference on the Sugar Bounties .

The Prince of Wales , whose term of office as Treasurer of the Middle Temple will terminate to-day ( Friday ) will preside this evening at the "Grand Day " dinner , which takes place during Michaelmas term . Bro . the Marquis of Hartington , M . P ., left Devonshire House on a visit to his father at Chatsworth . His lordship will shortly visit Dublin for political purposes in company with the Right Hon . It seems there are 32 S 3 Freemasons in Berlin , which is at the rate of 29 for every 10 , 000 of inhabitants . In Lubeck the proportion is 82 per 10 , 000 , in Bremen 45 per 10 , 000 , and in Hamburg 54 per 10 , 000 . A recent number of the Philadelphia Keystone

contains a long account of the civil distinctions achieved by many of the members of the St . John ' s Lodge , of Philadelphia , 1731-3 S , the most prominent among them being Bros . VV . Allen , Benjamin Franklin , Dr . Thomas Bond , and Dr . T . Cadwalader .

Bro . W . S . Gardner , a Past Grand Master of Massachusetts , and one of the most learned and thoughtful brethren in that jurisdiction , has recently resigned his seat on the judicial bench . Bro . Gardner was born in 1827 .

Bros . Hyde Clarke , Sir S . Waterlow , Bart ., Maguire , Sir B . Samuelson , and others , attended a conference held at the Cannon-street Hotel , on Wednesday , under the auspices of the London Chamber of Commerce , on the subject of "Commercial Education . "

Lord Mayor De Keyser will entertain the members of the International Conference on the Sugar Bounties , which is now being held in London , at dinner , on Wednesday next , the 30 th inst ., but as the Mansion House is undergoing repairs , the banquet will take place in Sadlers' Hall , by permission of the members of tha Guild . The Princess of Wales , accompanied by her

daughters , the Princesses Louise , Victoria and Maud , left Marlborough House on Wednesday afternoon for Sandringham , where they will be joined later in the week by the Prince , who is already in Norfolk , on a visit to Bro . Tyssen-Amhurst , M . P . The infant daughter of the Prince and Princess Henry ot Battenberg was christened in the parish chapel

at Balmoral , on Wednesday . Her Majesty help the child while the rite was being performed , the names given , being Victoria Eugenie Julia Eva . This is the first baptism that has taken place in the castle of Balmoral , and the only royal baptism which has been celebrated . in Scotland for upwards of 200 years . Bro . Sir Roper Lethbridge has , we understand ,

been invited to read a paper on " The Gjld Fields of Mysore " at the Colonial Institute , and has consented to do so at an early meeting , when Sir Andrew Clarke , who was one of the first officials in India to call attention to those fields , will preside . The exhibition of the Queen ' s Jubilee presents

at St . James's Palace was brought to a close on Wednesday , the number of persons who visited it during the time it was open being about 430 , 000 , of whom 80 per cent , were women and children . Among the more recent visitors was the Princess of Wales , who inspscted th ; m on Sunday last .

The Lord Chancellor , Bro . Lord Halsbury , laid the foundation stone of the new City of London Court , Guildhall , on Wednesday afternoon , in the presence of Bro . Lord Mayor De Keyser and other leading City functionaries . On the motion of the Lord Mayor , a vote of thanks to his lordship for his presence on the occasion was carried with acclamation .

The City of Westminster Lodge , No . 1563 , held the installation meeting on Thursday , ( last evening ) at the Regent Masonic Temple ( Cafe Royal ) , W . Bro . Edmond Beaumont Cox , J . W ., W . M . elect was duly installed by Bro . W . C . Smith , VV . M . A large attendance was present , and everything went satisfactorily . Bro . Hammond , P . N ., had been re-elected Treasurer , and Bro .

' the Rev . F . E . Egerton , Chaplain of the St . Oswald Lodge , No . 910 , and vicar of the parish took the principal part . Among the brethren present was Bro . T . W . Tew , J . P ., Prov . G .

Master of West Yorkshire , and the members of the St . Oswald Lodge , in full Masonic clothing , while the sermon was preached by Bro . the Very Rev . A . Purey-Cust , Dean of York , and Past G . Chaplain of England . Bro . Viscount Lifford , who died at his seat , Meen G ! as , Stranorlar , County Donegal , on Sunday , after a long and painful illness , was born on the 31 st March , 1 S 11 , and

succeeded to the title and estates in 1 S 55 . While at Christ Church , Oxford , he was initiated in the Apollo University Lodge , in 1830 , but he does not seem to have taken an active part in Masonry . He was one of the representative peers of Ireland , and is succeeded by his eldest son , the Hon . and Rev . James Wilfred Hewitt , born 12 th October , 1 S 37 , of Austin House , Broadway , Worcestershire .
