Grand Festival , which was held on Wednesday under the presidency of Bro . the Earl of Mount Edgcumbe , Dep . G . Master , passed off , as usual , most successfully . There was a full attendance of Grand Officers and brethren , and those who had been selected to wear the coveted " Purple " for the ensuing year

were greeted with the greatest cordiality as they advanced to the elais for the purpose of being invested with the insignia of their respective offices . We arc not sanguine enough to expect that the appointments which have been made will give universal satisfaction , but a glance at the list of the new officers and at the

record of the services waich they have severally rendered to Freemasonry will satisfy all reasonable men that the M . VV . G . honour upon the Craft by the services they have rendered to the community at large , or the positions of dignity and distinction to which they have attained .
