donor may be yet remains a secret , svhich probably may not be divulged until the banner appears in the lodge . Bro . Nell announced the result of his Stesvardship at the recent Festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , his list amounting to , £ 48 . The Charity record of the lodge during the four years of its existence is nosv six Stesvards , total lists £ 359 , divided betsveen the three Institutions . A
communication svas read from Bro . C . E . Keyser , P . G . 132 S ; and others , regretting their inability to be present . The lodge svas then closed . A most enjoyable interval svas spent in the adjoining grounds , after svhich the brethren re-assembled for dinner . Bro . Cobb , I . P . M ., proposed "The Health of the
W . M ., " congratulating him on having had a very successful year of office . In addition to performing the svork in a manner svorthy of imitation , the W . M . had been indefatigable in providing for their comfort and entertainment , and by the musical arrangements svhich he had introduced to their meetings had been made much more
attractive . The W . AI ., in reply , thanked the brethren for the cordiality of their reception of the toast . Since he had the honour to be elected to the chair he had received nothing but kindness and consideration from them . Their brother the I . P . M . had been too generous in his commendations of the services he had been able to render to the Iodge . If
he had done anything to promote its welfare and their comfort and enjoyment he svas more than repaid by their kind approval . His interest in the lodge svould remain unabated , and he hoped to be spared some years to render the lodge any service it might be in his posver to give , or the lodge might be pleased to accept . In conducting , he svished them all happiness and prosperity individually ,
and for the lodge a career of unbroken success . The W . AL next proposed "The Health of the VV . M . elect . " They had that day chosen an experienced brother to rule over them in the lodge for the ensuing year , and he felt assured that their confidence svould not prove misplaced . He congratulated Bro . Nell on the result of the election , and svished him svith all heartiness and sincerity a
happy and prosperous year of office . Bro . Nell , S . W ., W . M . elect , thanked the brethren for the position svhich they had placed him in , the VV . M . for the kind manner in svhich he had proposed the toast , and the brethren for the equally kind manner in svhich they had received it . They knesv he took a great interest in Freemasonry . It svas his ambition to become Master of his
mother lodge , and as a founder of the Kingssvood Lodge , it svas also his ambition to occupy the chair in it ,- he had hardly expected to reach it so soon . They had had a very successful year j his predecessors had set an example svhich he hoped to follosv j nothing would give him greater satisfaction than to have plenty of svork to do . His effort svould be to further the interests of Freemasonry in general , and
the Kingswood Lodge in particular . Bro . Cobb , I . P . M ., proposed "The Visitors , " saying it svas always a pleasant thing to see a good number of visitors present . They svere not able to put sumptuous fare before them , though he thought their little dinners svere enjoyed , but they could and did give them a hearty and cordial svelcome . Alore especially did they do so on that occasion ,
svhen to mark the connection betsveen the Islington and Kingssvood Lodges , in each of svhich their Bro . Coxon svas W . M . at the present moment . Several brethren of the Islington had attended , and been kind enough to arrange a programme of music for their entertainment , svhich they had appreciated and enjoyed very much indeed . Later , the W . M . proposed "The Health of the Present
and Past Alembersof the Islington Lodge and the Islington Lodge of Instruction , " svhen it was found that exactly tsvothirds of the brethren present came within this designation . Bros . J . Duncan , P . M . 59 ; T . D . Nesvman , 1471 ; andE . Loxley , 22 4 1 , replied for the visitors . The W . AI . proposed "The Past Masters , " saying the lodge had been fortunate in its Alasters . The first VV . M .,
Bro . Rawson Kelley , svas a free-hearted and generous brother . The second W . M ., Bro . Petch , was indeed the father of the lodge ; he had continued to prove himself a faithful guide and leader in the lodge . Long might he be spared to fill the honourable position to svhich they had again elected him . They knesv that no more worthy and efficient brother could be found for the post . Of Bro . Cobb , third
Master , he could not speak too highly , his services svere fresh in the memory of the brethren . The Past Masters had the svelfare of the lodge as much at heart as svhen they filled the more prominent position of Master . Of such Past Alasters the lodge should be proud , and might their number in that lodge be ever made up of such brethren as their present Past Masters .
Bro . Cobb , LP . AL , replied in a fesv well chosen svords . Bro . Petch , P . M . and Treas ., contributed an eloquent speech to the evening's proceedings . The Secretary , Bro . J . T . Bell , P . AL , and each of the officers responded to their toast . The musical programme , svhich had been arranged by Bro . Nesvman , was an excellent one , and included songs by Bros . Isler , Bury , Attsvater , and Nesvman , a duet by
Bros . Bury and Attwater , and a trio by Bros . Bury , Newman , and Attsvater . Bro . W . E . Goodwins , Org ., accompanied with his usual ability , and in addition gave , for the first time , an amusing parody and a song , composed by himself . The Tyler ' s toast brought to a close what was pronounced to be one of the most enjoyable and successful meetings the ludge has had , and the W . AL has reason to be gratified svith the final meetin ? of his year of office .
CHORE TON-CUM-HA RD Y . Chorlton Lodge ( No . 1387 ) . —The regular meeting svas held on Thursday , the nth inst . Lodge svas opened , and the minutes read and confirmed .
and Bro . A . F . Holland svas raised to the Degree of M . Mason . Messrs . L . C . Brooke , and T . W . Alderman were then initiated into Freemasonry in a very impressive manner . It svas unanimously resolved that a Past Alaster's jewel should be presented to the VV . M . on his retirement from the chair , in recognition of his valuable services . The lodge svas closed , and an excellent banquet having been
enjoyed , the usual toasts svere given . Bro . W . H . Lee , P . P . G . D . Middx ., responded for "The Prov . G . Officers , " and said they svould continue to render a cordial support to the present ruler of the province , as they had done to the late Sir Francis Burdett . From svhat they sasv of Bro . Lord George Hamilton , the Prov . G . Master , a fortnight since , they might expect a very success
ful and prosperous reign , and feel sure that the prestige of the province would be maintained . Speaking personally it svas some time since he had attended that lodge , and svas pleased to see it progressing so svell , and the svork carried out by the Worshipful Alaster and his officers in such a creditable manner . Bro . George R . Langley , Prov . S . G . D ., thanked the
brethren for their kind reception on that , his first visit to the lodge . He svas pleased to see Bro . Wheeler in the chair carrying out the svork according to the traditions ol that lodge , and also to sec in the S . W . ' s chair Bro . Dunstan , whom he knesv as an active worker in Freemasonry . With reference to his position as Secretary for election in connection svith the Provincial Charity Committee , he wished
to point out that a son of the late Bro . J . A . Wilson , a P . M . of that lodge , whose petition for admission to the R . M . I , for Boys had been signed that evening , had only one chance , as he svould be above the age at the next election . It svould require the efforts of every brother they could get to svork for them to ensure his election , and unless they worked hard thev svould find themselves out in
the cold . At the next meeting of Grand Lodge , when the election for the Board of General Purposes svould be held , there were three brethren hailing from the province seeking election , viz .: Bros . Capt . T . C . Walls , P . P . G . W . j VV . A . Scurrah , P . P . G . Supt . of Wks . j and A . Blenkarn , P . M . He trusted the brethren would attend and give their suonort . more esoeciallv to Bro . Blenkarn . who was elected
a Master last year , and now came forward as a Past AIaster . Bro . J . C Goslin , Prov . G . S . B ., said it svas a very pleasing duty to propose " The Health of the VVorshipfuI Master . " All those brethren who had been members of the lodge as long as he had must appreciate the way in svhich Bro . Wheeler had fulfilled every office he had held in the lodge , and must feel gratified that he had now
reached the highest point . Bro . S . Wheeler , W . M ., briefly thanked the brethren for the hearty reception accorded the toast of his health . Bro . L . C . Brooke , in responding to "The Initiates , " proposed by the I . P . M ., said it was with considerable trepidation he attended the lodge that day to be initiated into Freemasonryand it svas svith no less tremblim ? he stood
, to answer the toast . He should venture to leave the greater part of the response to the brother on his right , svhom he understood had attended marriage festivities , and had toasted the ladies . He svished to thank those svho had proposed and seconded him , and also those svho did not black ball him . They had been deeply impressed with the ceremony . It was iust the right sort of thing for such an
important Institution as theirs , and they trusted to ue worth y of the conlidence reposed in them . He had also been impressed with the svay in which that lodge—of wnicn he svas an honourary member—was conductsd . Bro . T . W . Alderman also responded . , "The Visitors" was next cordially proposed by U " e
W . M ., and appropriately replied to by the visiting brethren present . _ „ , In giving "The Treasurer , Secretary , and Offic * r .= , tne W . M . said it svas a great pleasure for any Master to nav ofiicers round him such as he had—brethren who knew tnei svork , and were willing and anxious to do it . , The Officers returned thanks , and the Tyler ' s toast closeo the proceedings .

This svas met by a vote of one guinea . Letters svere received from Bros . Rasvson Kelley , P . M . j J . L . Mather , P . A . G . D . C . j G . T . Chretien , W . M .
