Craft Masonry.

The usual toasts were given , the health of the new Master bring drunk with much heartiness . Songs by Messrs . J . T . Parsons and W . Lewis , and several exceedingly well rendered quartets , added greatly to the enjoyment of the evening . The catering of Mr . J . Steinle was up to its usual high standard of excellence .

A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Installing Master , who briefly acknowledged the compliment , and the lodge was closed . The brethren then adjourned to the fine coffee room of the hotel , where an elegant banquet was admirably served .

M ,, was assisted by all his officers , and after the transaction of formal busini ss he proceeded to pass Bros . J . R . Abbott and Salt to the F . C . Degree . The working in the

ceremony was good all round , and was rendered much more impressive by the explanation of the tracing-board , given by Bro . Watkin , S . D ., in a manner not to be surpassed , eliciting the admiration of all present . His proficiency is in great measure due to regular attendance at the Dobie Lodge of Instruction , and it is certain that the parent lodge will be suoplied with efficient officers for

Eleanor Cross Lodge ( No . 1764 ) . —About 100 members of the different lodges in Northampton and the county , and also from a distance , assembled on the iGth inst ., at the Masonic Hall , Princess-street , to honour Bro . H . Hodges , S . W ., on his elevation to the chair of the lodge , and the proceedings throughout were of a most enthusiastic

and pleasing character . The lodge was opened , and the business , which , in addition to the installation ceremony , included the initiation of two members , occupied three hours . Bro . II . Manfield with a Past Master's jewel , and , in doing so , said he had proved himself thoroughly worthy of it , and he hoped he might live many years to wear it Bro . Manfield thanked the VV . M . and the brethren for the presentation made to him , and said as long as he lived he should remember the happy year of office through which he had passed . The newly-elected VV . M . and the retiring VV . M

made useful presentations to the lodge , for which they were heartily thanked . The W . M . next referred to the loss the Province of Norths and Hunts had suffered by the death of their Deputy Grand Master , Bro . Buller Wilkins . He said he felt sure they all regretted the death of so active a worker among them , and also that they deeply sympathised with his family in their bereavement . He proposed that a

letter of condolence be sent from the lodge to the family of their deceased brother , and that it be entered upon the minutes . Bro . Manfield seconded the proposition . The loss they had sustained , he said , was very great , and he felt sure they all regretted it personally as well as Masonieally . He thought he was speaking the voice of the whole of the

brethren when he said they had suffered a loss which it would take a long time to repair , and also that they most heartily sympathised with the family deceased had left behind him , and to whom he was so deeply attached . The vote was carried unanimously , and the lodge was closed . A banquet was subsequently held , at which the W , M . presided . OLD TRAFFORD .

ceremony was good all round , and was rendered much more impressive by the explanation of the tracing-board , given by Bro . Watkin , S . D ., in a manner not to be surpassed , eliciting the admiration of all present . His proficiency is in great measure due to regular attendance at the Dobie Lodge of Instruction , and it is certain that the parent lodge will be suoplied with efficient officers for

M . and the brethren for the presentation made to him , and said as long as he lived he should remember the happy year of office through which he had passed . The newly-elected VV . M . and the retiring VV . M

made useful presentations to the lodge , for which they were heartily thanked . The W . M . next referred to the loss the Province of Norths and Hunts had suffered by the death of their Deputy Grand Master , Bro . Buller Wilkins . He said he felt sure they all regretted the death of so active a worker among them , and also that they deeply sympathised with his family in their bereavement . He proposed that a

letter of condolence be sent from the lodge to the family of their deceased brother , and that it be entered upon the minutes . Bro . Manfield seconded the proposition . The loss they had sustained , he said , was very great , and he felt sure they all regretted it personally as well as Masonieally . He thought he was speaking the voice of the whole of the

brethren when he said they had suffered a loss which it would take a long time to repair , and also that they most heartily sympathised with the family deceased had left behind him , and to whom he was so deeply attached . The vote was carried unanimously , and the lodge was closed . A banquet was subsequently held , at which the W , M . presided . OLD TRAFFORD .
