The executive presented a statement of accounts , showing a substantial balance , and that there had been 112 more attendances this year than during the previous one . The

executive were congratulated on the prosperous position the chapter had attained under their auspices , and Comp . Dehane received a cordial vote of thanks for his services , which compliment he duly acknowledged . Comp . Cruttenden thanked the companions for their sympathy during his late trouble . After the M . E . Z . had risen the usual number of times , "Hearty good wishes" were accorded , and the chapter closed .

GRAND COUNCIL . The half-yearly meeting of Grand Council was held at Mark Masons' Hall , on Friday , the 12 th inst . Bro . Dr . Zacharie , G . S . R ., presided , and among those present were Bros . Grand Recorder . The report of the Executive Committee called attention to the sparseness of the attendance at the weekly meetings of the conclave of instruction , held at Mark Masons' Hall , and the Grand Recorder was requested to issue a notice asking all Secretaries to place

upon each summons issued a memorandum reminding brethren of the Order that the conclave of instruction meets every Friday evening at seven o ' clock . The G . S . R . nominated Bros . J . Lewis Thomas and Richard Eve as members of the Executive Committee for the ensuing year , and the brethren present elected
