DUBLIN . Military Lodge ( No . 72 S ) . —This lodge met at Freemasons' Hall , on Friday evening , the 20 th inst ., for the purpose of installing officers for 1 S 93 . This meeting will long be remembered with pride and pleasure by the members , for on that occasion Bro . General Lord Viscount Wolseley , K . P ., G . C . B ., G . CM . C , Commander of the Forces in Ireland , was installed as W . M . in the presence

of a number of distinguished brethren of the Irish Craft . After labour , the brethren and their guests sat down to a very excellent banquet , and passed an exceedingly enjoyable evening . The toasts , which were responded to by the several recipients in the most felicitous terms , were interspersed with songs from various well known brethren , which

contributed largely to the enjoyment as well as to the harmony of the evening . In replyirg to the toast of his health , the W . M . referred in mcst feeling terms to his remembrance of his initiation in 72 S , in the year 1854 , and also to the gratification he experienced in being once more at home in the mother lodge after his long absence in

" Distant shores and foreign climes , " Although , when far from that little island lodge , he had always met the right hand of fellowship wherever he went , and from whomsoever of the brethren he met , be they of high degree or low . " Auld Lang Syne " brought to an appropriate close an evening , the prominent characteristics of which were those peculiarly Masonic ones , P . L . and II .

IWost of the brethren are of opinion that it is a more suitable way to celebrate the installation of a W . M . by having an entertainment at which their wives and sweethearts can attend than a banquet for men onl / .
