At the conclusion of the concert dancing commenced in the Pillar Hall , the Orchestral Society again kindly rendering the whole of the music , and at eight o ' clock supper vvas

After the Worshipful Master had , in a most satisfactory and careful manner , performed the ceremony of raising two Fellow Crafts and initiating one gentleman , the brethren

proceeded to the election of the W . M . forthe ensuing year . Bro . Joseph Bladon , the S . W . of the lodge , obtained the unanimous suffrages of the brethren , and thanked them for the great honour conferred upon him . The Treasurer , Bro . Cope , P . M ., being again elected to that office . Routine work having been gone through , the lodge was

closed , and the brethren proceeded to banquet at Freemasons' Tavern , where the W . M . presided over one of the most numerous and successful gatherings ever held in connection vvith the lodge , vvhich included 14 or 15 visitors . The W . M ., in the course of his remarks , observed that the season now closing had been one of the brightest they had had . No less than 10 initiates and a number of

joining members having , notwithstanding the unusually high fees , become members of the lodge . The sum of 30 guineas had been placed to the lodge Benevolent Fund , and 10 guineas on his list as Steward for the Boys' School . He thanked them one and all for their cordial assistance to him during his year of office . During the banquet a fine selection of music vvas rendered by Madame Vaudrey and Bros . Reports Of Masonic Meetings.

Bro . Reed said he had many visits during the past two months . He should be very glad to come to the Duke of Fife Lodge on any occasion . He enjoyed the hospitality equally vvith the good working . The Worshipful Master next proposed "The W . M . elect , Bro . W . W . Westley—the Masonic Schoolmaster of Clapham . " They all loved Bro . Westley , not only for his good

work as a Mason , but also for his kind , good , jovial manner . He trusted that the G . A . O . T . U . would not only spare him to rule over the lodge in the coming year , but also for many years to enjoy their love and respect . In response , Bro . Westley thanked the brethren for their kindness , and said it vvas a great honour . He would have the welfare of the lodge near to his heart . The members were well up in the ritual , and he trusted they vvould do

well for the Charities . He wished to take a large sum for the " Old People " next year when he went up as Steward for the lodge . Bro . Cochrane proposed "The Officers , " and Bros . Folkard , J . Torrington . Bro . Stevens delivered a most interesting and instructive lecture on "The Ritual of Symbolic Freemasonry , " to vvhich the brethren listened vvith the greatest attention , and until the near departure of the railway trains necessarily compelled separation . A hearty vote of thanks to Bro . Stevens vvas proposed by Bro . C . G . Davie , P . M ., Prov . Grand Secretary , and being : seconded by Bro . the

Rev . Thomas Russell , P . M ., Past Prov . Grand Warden , vvas unanimously carried . There was a very strong feeling amongst those who had had the advantage of hearing Bro . Stevens' admirable lecture , that the information given vvas as valuable as the delivery and oratory of the lecturer were fluent and impressive . There can be no doubt that the Craft vvill gain considerably by his experience and instruction in Masonic working .
