during his year of office as Worshipful Alaster , had become a Benedict " The brethren , one and all , had signified their friendship , feeling of brotherly love , and general appreciation of Bro . Curt-ton's work by " combining together and now asking him to accept a small token of the fee'ings they had towards him . He trusted Bro . Cureton would forgive him for any deception lit- had practised , but he had writ ten to Airs . Cureton—taking care the letter should arrive when

their worthy brother was absent—and the result was the brethren desired to mark their respect and esteem by presenting their l . P . M . with a tantalus . In asking Bro , Cureton to accept that present they hoped he would be spared for many years to use it . ' 1 he W . M . having briefly re-echoed the sentiments expressed 1 >\ - Bro . Callaway , J . W ., presented the I . P . AL with a Past . Master ' s jewel . Bro . I . 11 . Cureton , I . P . AL , thanked them for that handsome

token ol * their appreciation of his services . He had endeavoured to do his best for the lodge , and as long as he was given health and strength would continue to do so . With regard to the observations , of the J . W ., his wife had been telling him lately that she could keep a secret as well as he , and he could assure them she had never

breathed a wold regarding this affair . It came as a very great surprise to him , and whenever he used it it w-ould always remind him of the happy evenings spent in that lodge . He thanked them also for the beautiful jewel which he should look upon with equal pleasure , and he hoped they would all be spared to enjoy each other ' s company for many

years . 'The lodge was then closed , and an excellent dinner having been enjoyed , the usual toasts were honoured . Bro . James Stevens , P . J . G . O ., responded for "The Grand Ollicers , and Prov . Grand Ollicers , " and referring to the growth of Mark Alasonry , said he could look back to the time when Grand Lodge met in a small room , and when he was concerned with Bros . Canon Portal and

Binckes in framing the ritual . He had at home the very first proofs , and they could imagine how gratified he was to hear the ritual delivered that evening with strict fidelity to the original . He believed the Kintore Lodge had justified its position as being , the exponent of Alark Alasonry in South London . 'There was good promise given at the consecration eight years ago , when he was one of the Consecrating Officers and consequently an honorary member .

He sympathised with all their efforts in this glorious Degree , and congratulated them on the success they had attained in that lodge . Bro . ] . H . Cureton , I . P . AL , in proposing "The Health of the W . M ., " said they had installed a brother who had during his Alasonic career , and certainly in . Mark Alasonry , worked hard . They were sure the W . AI . would not let the Kintore Lodge deteriorate , but maintain its present high standard .

Bro . Major T . F . Easterbrook , VV . AL , having thanked the I . P . AL and brethren , said he would take that opportunity of saying that the letters he received from his brethren in office , although formal in character , were so worded that he did not know he ever experienced so much pleasure before . I hey all bad their civil engagements in life , and they had undertaken to do their duties in that particular walk of life , and to do the best they could . It was the duty

of every officer to make himself master of his work , and get a thorough knowledge of his duties , and there was a grand opportunity ( or doing so in the lodge of instruction named after this lodge . Several of the brethren connected with that lodge were present that evening , and he would say they were always ready to give every assistance and instruction . It had been said theirs was the first Alark lodge in the province , but having attained that position ,

they had to make it sound and secure . They had had great assistance given to the ledge by their Scotch friends , and the happy circumstance of Bro . Callaway , J . W ., joining them , together with Bro . Brail ; , the present Secretary , was very gratifying , lie would do his best , and spare no effort in order to support the lodge , and he hoped they would endeavour to give him plenty of work . Installing Alaster and I ast . Masters , " and said ne had tried to do his best , and the Past Alasters would always be ready to do so for the benefit of the lodge . Bro . Jackson replied for " The Advancee ; " Bros . Davis and Elgar for "The Visitors ; " and Bro . VV . VV . Lee for " The Alasonic Press . " The Worshipful Alaster , in giving " The Ollicers , " said

he was pleased to see Bro . Callaway in the chair of J . W ., for he had carried out the duties of Secretary with enthusiasm and great ability . Bro . J . II . Norman Callaway , J . W ., said that during the live years he had been Secretary his work had been a labour of love , and he had been amply repaid by the kindness shown . The office of Secietary had now devolved upon a

brother who was a most energetic man , and a good recruiting sergeant in the regiment to which he belonged . Bros . J . Hill , S . W ., and the Rev . W .
