Atthur Strutt , wa > then presented by Bro . VV . F . Bates , P . M ., and installed into the chair by the outgoing Master , Bro . Norrington the ceremony being performed in a most able manner . M ., Bro . Arthur Strutt , initialed Mr . James Coyle , which he performed in a most commendable manner . The report of the Audit Committee was received and adopted . In presenting a Past Master ' s jewel to Bro . D . F . Norrington , the VV . M . stated that it wis a small
token of the great esteem in which he was held by the members , and for his valuable services as W . M . Bro . Norrington , in a few words , tendered his sincere thinks , and said he appreciated the jewel . The Secretary stated that Bro . VV . Hoggins , P . M ., had intimated that he wished to resign the lodge in consequence of his inability to attend the meetings , and it was unanimously resolved to ask him to reconsider the matter and make himself a country member , as the members would be very sorry to lose him . A gentleman was proposed for initiition at the next meeting , and other business followed , after which the lodge was closed .
After the banquet , the W . M . gave " The King and the Craft , " and said that his Majesty was the M . W . G . M . for 25 years , and was now the Protector of the Craft , whicn showed the interest he tcok in their great institution . "The M . W . G . M ., H . R . H . the Duke of Connaught " and "The Grand Officers , Present and Past , " were proposed lrom the chair , and duly accorded Masonic honours .
Bro . D . F . Nonington , I . P . M ., said he was proud and honoured to propose " The W . M ., Bro . Atthur Strutt . " He had been associated with him for many years , not only in Masonry , but in business , and they were both gray in the sameseiv ; ce . lie had always enjoyed his friendship , and those who knew him appreciated him , as he was successful with everything he took in hand . lhe VV . M . had intimated that he ( Bro . Noninglon ) must be brief in his remarks , but he felt he must express his feelings , and the pleasure he bad in installing him that evening , and he had not the slightest doubt that he would carry out the duties of his hiiih ollice with great credit , as the Pa ^ t Masters had done in the past , and so keep their good lodge well to the front .
The toast was received with much enthusiasm , as was the VV . M ., llro . Struit , on rising to respond . He stated that he appreciated their reception and the kind words of Bro . Norringtcn . For several years he had looked forward to occupying the chiir , and he was honoured to be Master of the St . Ambrose LoJge , and he would do his very utmost to carry out his duties in such a manner that he hoped would meet with their entire satisfaction . ( Applause . )
In proposing "The Installing Officer and I . P . M ., Bro . D . F . Norrington , " the W . M . slated that he was very much impressed with the able manner in which the installation ceremony had been performed , and he was giatified to have been installed by Bro . Norrington , who was one of the best . He had a good man to follow , and if he could carry out his duties as well ,-is he had done , he ( the W . M . ) would bc gratified . They were all agreed that he had had a very successful year of ollice and his efficient services would long be remembered .

M . for his kind but llittering remirks , he said tha . it had taken him some time to work up the ceremony of installation , but his business did not permit the time to enable him to rehearse it with the Past Masters , who would have rendered him every assistance , but if he had satisfied them , then he was glad . He took that opportunity of tendering his sincere thanks to his officers for their great assistance , and to the members for their kind support , and he should never forget his happy year of office .
lhc V / . M . proposed "lhe Initiate , observing that it was considered the greatest toast of the evening . The initiate was honoured by having as his sponsors Bros . L . Lichtwitz , P . M ., and VV . Ham , P . M ., who would not propose any but the right sort of man , and he hoped the initiate would be a credit to the lodge and Craft . Bro . James Coyle responded , thanking them for the way he lud b ; en received , and said that tor a long time past he wished to become a Freeinison , an J he would do his utmost to uphold thc tiaiiitium , of their very inpoi . ant Order .
In submitting the least of " lhe Visitors , " ths VV . M . remarked that it wis always nice to have plenty of visiting brethren . It wis characteristic of the lodge to mike much of their guests , and they were honoured with the presence of those that evening to whom he gave a hearty welcome , and he associatoj with the toast the names of Bros . He had also seen Uro . Strutt ' s work in another ledge with much pleasure , ar . d he had been cemmended by Grand Officers on the peifection ci hiswcik in the ritual , and in conclusion hc stated that he was glad to see such a gced feeling existing between the members and their excellent VV . M .

Day , also acknowledged the toast in some good speeches , eulogising the work and hospitality of the lodge , and expressing their lianas for so cordial a wilconu . Bro . Buxton then responded , statin ? that he wis oroul of th ; W . M ., who was one of his initiates , and consequently one of his boys , 9 . ad he wis please 1 to see him in the chair , which he was so well able to fill as he would b ^ one of ths b : st of Misters . The I . P . M ., Bro . Norrington , was also another of his initiates , and he wis delighted that he had carried out his duties to the satisfaction of them all . He hoped the members would rally round the W . M . and make his year of o ( fi : e another succiss in the anmls of their good lodge .
The hour being late , the W . M . gave as one toist , " The Treasurer , Secretary , and Officers of the Lodge , " and said that it was 12 years since Bro . P . P . Perry , P . M ., was installed , and he had carried out his duties as Treasurer in a very able minners The Secretary , Bro . W . F . Bates , P . M ., was a walking book of constitutions , and he was ever ready to assist to promate the interests of the Iodge . He also mentioned each of the other officer's qualifications , remarking thit he had known them for a number of years and he was proud of them , and he couoled with tlu toist the ninu of Bros . P . P . Perry , P . M ., Treas . ; VV . F . Bites , P . M ., S 2 c ; F . W . richer , S . W . and E . J . Rix , J . W .
Bro . Perry , P . M ., said it was a peculiar pleisure to him to respond as Treasurer , as 12 years ago he was installed W . M . The lodgs had now attaiied its majority and the W . M . was starting on the 22 nd year . The lodge hal reached perfection , and it was an honour to belong to it . When he ( Bro . Perry ) was installed the lodge wis terribly in debt , owing about £ 70 , but thit evening they hid a bilince of £ 270 , which was a record for the lodge , and during those years they ha J subscribed £ , 3 o to th ; Institutions and given £ 20 to indigent brothers . It wis 11 years ago that night since the lodge removed to the St . James' Restaurant , and might he add that it wis 34 years
since he was initiated , and he was proud to have been a Mason so long . Bro . W . P . Bates , P . M ., Sec , also responded , observing that few could understand the work a Secretary had to do unless they hid been through it . It was eight years a ? o since he was appointed to his office , yet he had never missed attending a meeting , and had always been punctual , and he felt it a great honour to be the Secretary yeir after year . He had tried to do his level best , and so lonj as he wis appointed Secretary , so long would he do everything in his power to promote the interests of thc Iodge and the happiness of the members .
Bros . F . Whicher , S . W ., and E . J . Rix , J . W ., also acknowledged the toast in very happy and suitable terms . The Tyler ' s toast ended a very satisfactory gathering and a most enjoyable evening . The musical entertainment was of excellent quality , in which the following wellknown artistes took part : Bros . Lindley Dirby , G 20 . O Hagan , G ; o . Thatcher , and Miss Rose Dallow , who was in splendid voice , and deserves special nuntio . i for her efforts , which were much appreciated . Bro . Sydney Scott presided at the pianoforte with his well-known ability .
Cornish Lodge , No . 2369 . A successful meeting of this pioneer of representative county lodges was held on Saturday , the 14 th instant , at Freemasons' Hall , when there were present Bros . Edward Symons , W . M . ; T . Hawken , I . P . M . ; W . Lake , Asst . G . Sec ; Leach Barrett , P . G . S . B . ; Cope , S . W . ; Church , J . W . ; John Roberts , P . M . ; R . Greenwoood , P . M ., Sec . ; N . J . West , P . M . ( the oldes t P . M . of the lodge ); J . O . Widger , P . M . ; the Rev . E . Geard , P . M . ; Gross , S . D . ; Simons , J . D . ; Vague , I . After the regular business of the lodge had been disposed of , including the initiation of one candidate and the passing and raising of three others , a sum of 10 guineas was , on the motion of Bro . W . Lake , Asst . G . Sec , Treas ., seconded by Bro . John Roberts , P . M ., voted to the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls , to be placed on the list of Bro . Colville Smith , Dep . Prov . G . M . Cornwall ; and a like sum on the list of Bio . Sholto Hare for the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys . The brethren afterwards dined at Freemasons' Tavern .
In response to the toast of his health , Bro . Edward Symons , W . M ., said that nothing Kid impressed him more duiing a recent visit to Cornwall than the keen interest displayed in thc doings of the Cornish Lodge in London . He , for his part , would do his best lo keep up the standard of woiking on which the lodge had been good enough to compliment him that evening . The olher usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , the proceedings being interspersed with part songs and solos rendered by the Hulmean Glee Society , by Mrs . Symons ( wife of the W . M . ) , and others . Many of thc brethren afterwards adjourned to the Cinderella dance given by the London Cornish Association in thc same building .

C . of Scotland , was held at the Rooms , York-street , Sydney , on Friday , the 22 nd ult ., the Depute Grand Superintendent , in the absence of the Grand Superintendent ( Major Z . C . Rennie ) from town , presiding . There was a large attendance of members , and after the Provincial Grand Committee ' s repoit had been adopted , the officers for the ensuing year were elected and invested as follow :

M ., who was one of his initiates , and consequently one of his boys , 9 . ad he wis please 1 to see him in the chair , which he was so well able to fill as he would b ^ one of ths b : st of Misters . The I . P . M ., Bro . Norrington , was also another of his initiates , and he wis delighted that he had carried out his duties to the satisfaction of them all . The hour being late , the W . M . gave as one toist , " The Treasurer , Secretary , and Officers of the Lodge , " and said that it was 12 years since Bro . P . P . Perry , P . M ., was installed , and he had carried out his duties as Treasurer in a very able minners The Secretary , Bro . W . F . Bates , P . M ., was a walking book of constitutions , and he was ever ready to assist to promate the interests of the Iodge . He also mentioned each of the other officer's qualifications , remarking thit he had known them for a number of years and he was proud of them , and he couoled with tlu toist the ninu of Bros . P . Bro . Perry , P . M ., said it was a peculiar pleisure to him to respond as Treasurer , as 12 years ago he was installed W . M . The lodgs had now attaiied its majority and the W . M . was starting on the 22 nd year . The lodge hal reached perfection , and it was an honour to belong to it . When he ( Bro . Perry ) was installed the lodge wis terribly in debt , owing about £ 70 , but thit evening they hid a bilince of £ 270 , which was a record for the lodge , and during those years they ha J subscribed £ , 3 o to th ; Institutions and given £ 20 to indigent brothers . It wis 11 years ago that night since the lodge removed to the St . James' Restaurant , and might he add that it wis 34 years
since he was initiated , and he was proud to have been a Mason so long . Bro . W . P . Bates , P . M ., Sec , also responded , observing that few could understand the work a Secretary had to do unless they hid been through it . It was eight years a ? o since he was appointed to his office , yet he had never missed attending a meeting , and had always been punctual , and he felt it a great honour to be the Secretary yeir after year . He had tried to do his level best , and so lonj as he wis appointed Secretary , so long would he do everything in his power to promote the interests of thc Iodge and the happiness of the members .
Bros . F . Whicher , S . W ., and E . J . Rix , J . W ., also acknowledged the toast in very happy and suitable terms . The Tyler ' s toast ended a very satisfactory gathering and a most enjoyable evening . The musical entertainment was of excellent quality , in which the following wellknown artistes took part : Bros . Lindley Dirby , G 20 . O Hagan , G ; o . Thatcher , and Miss Rose Dallow , who was in splendid voice , and deserves special nuntio . i for her efforts , which were much appreciated . Bro . Sydney Scott presided at the pianoforte with his well-known ability .
Cornish Lodge , No . 2369 . A successful meeting of this pioneer of representative county lodges was held on Saturday , the 14 th instant , at Freemasons' Hall , when there were present Bros . After the regular business of the lodge had been disposed of , including the initiation of one candidate and the passing and raising of three others , a sum of 10 guineas was , on the motion of Bro . W . Lake , Asst . G . Sec , Treas ., seconded by Bro . John Roberts , P . M ., voted to the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls , to be placed on the list of Bro . Colville Smith , Dep . Prov . G . M . Cornwall ; and a like sum on the list of Bio . Sholto Hare for the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys . The brethren afterwards dined at Freemasons' Tavern .
In response to the toast of his health , Bro . Edward Symons , W . M ., said that nothing Kid impressed him more duiing a recent visit to Cornwall than the keen interest displayed in thc doings of the Cornish Lodge in London . He , for his part , would do his best lo keep up the standard of woiking on which the lodge had been good enough to compliment him that evening . The olher usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , the proceedings being interspersed with part songs and solos rendered by the Hulmean Glee Society , by Mrs . Symons ( wife of the W . M . ) , and others . Many of thc brethren afterwards adjourned to the Cinderella dance given by the London Cornish Association in thc same building .

C . of Scotland , was held at the Rooms , York-street , Sydney , on Friday , the 22 nd ult ., the Depute Grand Superintendent , in the absence of the Grand Superintendent ( Major Z . C .
