Z . for the excellent manner he had conducted the work of th * evening , to he recorded on the minutes , this being the lirst time he had occupied the chair in that chapter . Comp . ' / .., in returning thanks , said it was live years since he had occupied a chair , and he thanked the companion ' s for allowing him to rehearse the ceremony , and promised if they would attend on the next meeting he should be pleased to occupy the same position . The lodge was then closed and the brethren adjourned to the banquet . Upon the removal of the cloth the usual toasts followed . In responding for the toast of * ' Thc Advancee , " Bro . G . Everett , in the course of an able speech , expressed the gratification it had afforded him in being present that day to redeem a long standing promise he had

made to their Secretary . He went on to say that his health for some time past had been far from satisfactory , but feeling better that day he had journeyed to Twickenham town to take the Mark Degree , and highly impressed he had been with the ceremony . In conclusion he thanked the membsrs for their cordial reception that evening , and he hoped to be spared many years lo come among them . A few other toasts followed , and the proceedings terminated .

Bro . Bryant gave notice of motion , "That for services rendered , for many years past , to the council , Bro . Thomas Poore be elected an honorary member . " Thc council having been closed in the Degree of Select Master , thc brethren adjourned to the annual festival , which was held at the Holborn Restaurant . The Thrice Illustrious Master presided most admirably , and is to be congratulated on thc manner in which the whole proceedings were carried out .

Social Evening Of The "Old Masonians."

SOCIAL EVENING OF THE "OLD MASONIANS . "

The "Old Masonians" held their lirst social evening at thc Pitt ' s Head Hotel , Old Bailey , on Tuesday , the iSth inst . Mr . Charles M . Uwins was in the chair , and there were between 20 and 30 Old Boys present . Messrs . Whiteley and Uwins had prepared a verv -rood

programme which was rendered by ( amongst others ) Messrs . Penman , Shill , Richardson , and Palmer , who kindly gave their services , and the " Old Masonians" were well represented by Messrs . Newman , Whiteley , and Uwins . After the programme had been gone through a general meeting was held , and the rules were passed , officers elected .

and the club was fairly launched . We shall be glad to hear that this project is flourishing and is \ vell supported by all old scholars of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys , both in London and the provinces . We are informed that all particulars can be obtained from the Hon Secretary , Mr . Alfred Watkins , 36 , Cologne-road j New Wandsworth .

He went on to say that his health for some time past had been far from satisfactory , but feeling better that day he had journeyed to Twickenham town to take the Mark Degree , and highly impressed he had been with the ceremony . In conclusion he thanked the membsrs for their cordial reception that evening , and he hoped to be spared many years lo come among them . The Thrice Illustrious Master presided most admirably , and is to be congratulated on thc manner in which the whole proceedings were carried out .

The "Old Masonians" held their lirst social evening at thc Pitt ' s Head Hotel , Old Bailey , on Tuesday , the iSth inst . Mr . Charles M . Uwins was in the chair , and there were between 20 and 30 Old Boys present . Messrs . Whiteley and Uwins had prepared a verv -rood

programme which was rendered by ( amongst others ) Messrs . Penman , Shill , Richardson , and Palmer , who kindly gave their services , and the " Old Masonians" were well represented by Messrs . Newman , Whiteley , and Uwins . After the programme had been gone through a general meeting was held , and the rules were passed , officers elected .

and the club was fairly launched . We shall be glad to hear that this project is flourishing and is \ vell supported by all old scholars of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys , both in London and the provinces .
