Annual Summer Outing Of The St. Luke's Lodge, No. 144.

ANNUAL SUMMER OUTING OF THE ST . LUKE'S LODGE , No . 144 .

The above ancient lodge gave their annual summer outing on Wednesday , the 12 th inst ., and it was a gigantic success . The party proceeded by special saloon carriages from Paddington to Windsor , where the newly-built launch " Bona-Fide " awaited and conveyed them to Marlow , music being freely indulged in en route .

After a splendid hot lunch had been partaken of at the " Compleat Angler " Hotel , The Worshipful Master , Bro . B . BKIDCMAN , who , it is needless to mention , always makes such an excellent Chairman , proposed the toast of "The Queen and Royal Family , " Bro . Leon Bridgman singing "The National Anthem , " in his wonted style .

This was supplemented by the VV . M . giving the toast of the day , '' The St . Luke ' s Lodge . " "The Health of the Worshipful Master , " which was proposed by Bro . F . THOMAS , S . W ., elicited a sparkling and humorous reply .

Ihe same brother , after resuming his seat for a moment then gave " The Ladies , " which we need not say was drunk con nmore . Bro . S . C . MONTACUK AUSTIN , who evidently is a very passionate admirer of the fair sex , being called upon to respond on their behaif , did so in a most complimentary manner .

The launch which looked remarkably bright as it steamed along was further embellished by the charming toilettes of the ladies , which presented a pleasing and animated picture . Music on the homeward journey was as freely indulged in as when " outward bound , " Bros . Leon Bridgman , F . Thomas , S . W ., and S . Montague Austin , with tlieir usual good nature , contributing very largely to the enjoyment of the guests .

Among the guests who assisted in the musical arrangements , and who deserve special praise , may be mentioned the Misses Saunders , who sang prettily and showed great cultivation of voice . Mrs . Leon Bridgman sang very charmingly " Killarney . " Of Mrs . F . Thomas , much might be said of her masterly execution . Miss Bridgman caused a deal of amusement by singing a quaint little song , in wliich all joined heartily in the chorus ; and Bro . Mun Graham , who sang , amongst

others , "The Old Soldier" in admirable style , the chorus being | heartily appreciated . Many others delighted their listeners , but want of space forbids further mention . The whole arrangements for the day were carried out for the Master by the following thoroughly efficient Committee : Bros , A . Saunders , P . M . ; F . Thomas , S . W . ; A . Beauchamp , J . VV . ; and R . Illing , I . G . ; with Bro . S . C . Montague Austin as their Hon . Secretary and Treasurer .
