Bros , the Earls of Faversham , Lathom , and Ravensworth being among the members present . Bro . tbe Lord Mayor has addressed an appeal to the public for further support of the Jubilee Show of the
Royal Agricultural Society in Windsor Great Park in the summer . His lordship points out that the Society will give prizes amounting in value to £ 12 , 000 , that the Queen , who is President of the Society , has contributed towards the administrative expenses , and will give gold medals of
the aggregate value of £ 600 in the horse and cattle classes , and that the entries in the several classes give promise of being on an unprecedented scale . But the expenses will be enormous , and his lordship suggests that though the Mansion House Fund already amounts to £ 5000 , at least as much aeain is needed .
At the annual meeting of the East Lancashire Charity Committee and also the Systematic Benevolent Institution , held at Ihe Freemasons' Hall , Manchester , Bro . Alderman E . G . Harwood , P . The Charity is richly deserving of support , the number of children which it is capable of accommodating , since the new wing was opened by the
