LION AND LAMB LODGE ( No . 192 ) . —An emergency meeting of the above lodge was held on Thursday , the 21 st instl , at thc City Terminus Hotel , Cannonstreet . The brethren present were Bros . S . T . Lucas , W . M . ; W . T . Rickwood , I . P . M . ; George Kenning , P . M ., Treasurer , S . W . pro tem . ; George Abbott , P . M ., Secretary ; James Lorkin , J . W . ; Barclay Perkins , l . G . ; Charles Arkell , P . M . -, Thomas Fisher . J . Cook , R . J . Dart , Tho . Agutter , James Fraser , William Rowland , and others .

The petition of an applicant to the Board of Benevolence was signed by the W . AI . and brethren , and the applicant was relieved with thc sum of five guineas . The financial state of the lodge was then taken into consideration , the matter fully , discussed by the whole of the members present , the result being the Treasurer giving notice of motion , that the present subscription be increased from three to four guineas per annum , together with the re-adjustment of the visitors' fees .

WEST KENT LODGE ( No . 1297 ) . —The first meeting since the installation in March took place at thc Crystal Palace , Sydenham , on the 23 rd inst ., when there were present Bros . J . C . G . ; las . Crowden , and Phelps , W . Stewards ; Fullwood , P . M ., D . C ; Jas . Orange , Org . ; Bowler , Tyler ; Druce , Hicks , lohnson , Jenkins , and others .

After the minutes of the last meeting were duly read and confirmed , Mr . Robins , proposed by the W . M ., and seconded by the S . VV ., and Mr . Winkworth , proposed by Bro . Jenkins , and seconded by the I . P . M ., were balloted for , unanimously elected , and duly initiated into the mysteries of ancient Freemasonry by the VV . M ., Bro . Woodrow . The bye-laws were then read by the I . P . M ., and the lodge was closed , after which the brethren soon separated , as on this occasion there was no banquet .

FRANCIS BURDETT LODGE ( No . 150 .. ) . — This lodge met for the despatch of business at the Albany Hotel , Twickenham , on the gth inst . Among those present were Bros . Ashley , VV . M . ; T . C . Walls , P . P . G . S . B . Middlesex , S . W . ; Saunders , l . W . ; W . Wigginton , P . P . G . S . of VV . Middlesex , & c , ' Sec . ; the Rev . D'Orsey , Chap . ; VV . Taylor , I . P . M . ; and others . Bro . Briggs , Metropolitan Lodge , was a visitor .

The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed , Bro . Briggs was proposed as a joining member . Several communications- from absent brethren were then read . The sum of five guineas having been voted to Bro . VV . H . Saunders , P . M ., to head his list at one of the ensuing Masonic festivals , the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to refreshment . The usual toasts followed . Bro . Wigginton responded

on behalf of " The Provincial Grand Ofiicers . " " The Health of the VV . M . " was given by the I . P . M ., and duly acknowledged . " The Visitors " followed , and this toast having been warmly received , Bro . Briggs responded . "Thc Past Masters , " coupled with the name of llro . VV . Taylor , came next in order . Bro . Taylor having briefly replied , "The Officers '" toast came next . This toast having been acknowledged by Bros . Walls , Saunders , and D'Orsey , thc proceedings terminated .

RAVENSBOURNE LODGE ( No . 1601 ) . — The installation meeting of this lodge was held at thc Lewisham District Board of Works Offices , at Catford , on the 22 nd inst . The XV . Bro . Magnus Ohren , the Assistant G . D . of C . England , was installed VV . M . for the ensuing year , who appointed and invested his officers as follows : Bros . Win . George Lemon , S . W ., but in consequence of his health was obliged to decline those duties , whereupon Bro . Lemon , a

lounder of the lodge , who had been the Treasurer ever since , and h _ d been re-elected Treasurer for 1 SS 1-2 , was appointed S . W ., ancl requested by the VV . M . to hold the office of Treasurer in addition , until thc next regular election , which he consented to do . There were thirty members and visitors present , and thc brethren dined together after the lodge at the Guildhall Tavern .

HAMPTON COURT . —Burdett Lodge ( No . 1293 ) . —A meeting of this lodge was held on Saturday , the 23 rd instant ., at the Mitre 1 Iotel . Present : Bros . Gordon , W . M . ; Kentish , S . The lodge being opened the minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed . After which the VV . M . admirably went through the ceremonies of initiating Mr . Alfred Joseph Holland , and of raising Bros . Wm . Warner , C . VV . Bacon , and A . F . Mann in such a manner as to impress on those candidates the value and beauty of Masonry .

Tlie bye-laws of the lodge having been revised in Committee , were partly discussed in open lodge for confirmation , and thc lodge afterwards closed with harmony . The brethren then adjourned to supper , and upon the removal of the cloth the usual Masonic toasts were given , and duly acknowledged , and a very pleasant evening was passed in Masonry .

INSTRUCTION . PRINCE LEOPOLD LODGE ( No . 1445 ) . —The weekly meeting of this lodge was at Bro . Fromm ' s , The Moorgate , Finsbury-pavement , on Wednesday , the 20 th inst . Bro . VV . H . ' Myers , P . M ., Preceptor . Bro . S . Lore Green , P . M ., took the chair as W . M ., Bro . Partridge acting as S . W ., and Bro . J . Robson , J . W ., when the Third

Degree was worked in an able manner . There were also present Bros . McDonald , Kimbell , C . Smith , Seymour-Clarke , Sec , and others . Bvo . Partridge was elected W . M . for Wednesday , the 27 th inst . Brethren are reminded that this lodge has been removed from Dalston to City quarters , next door to the Moorgate-strcet Railway Station , and meets each Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 .

JERUSALEM CHAPTER ( Xo . 1 S 5 ) . —The installation meeting of this old chapter was held on the 12 th inst ., at the Freemasons' Tavern , when there were present among others Comps . J . I .. ; Harfield , P . Z ., Treas . ; Davis , P . S . ; Ellborn , First Asst . ; Holbrook , P . Z . ; Elsam , P . P . G . P . S . Surrey , P . Z ., & c .

The minutes of the previous convocation having been read and confirmed , Bro . Cleghorn , 12 S 7 , was exalted to thc Degree of a R . A . M . in a manner that left nothing to be desired . The duty of Installing Officer was taken by

Comp . P . Robinson , and he discharged it well . The ofiicers for the ensuing year are Comps . Walls , M . E . Z . ; Moss , II . ; Davis , J . ; Mander , I . P . Z . ; Davage , S . E . ; Stewart , S . N . ; Harfield , Treas . ; Ellborn , P . Z . ; Davis , First Asst . Previously to the chapter being closed , a vote of thanks to Comp . Robinson for his services as Installing Officer was unanimously passed , and ordered to be entered on the minutes .

I he banquet whicli followed the proceedings was admirably served , and reflected great credit on the management . Upon the removal of the cloth the customary toasts received full justice . "The Health of the M . E . Z . " was proposed by the I . P . Z ., and Comp . Walls having replied , then gave "The Exaltee . " In his reply , Comp . Cleghorn expressed his high appreciation of the ceremony , and his favourable opinion of the masterly way in which it had been

performed by the Immediate Past Principal . The toast of "The Visitors " followed . In giving this toast the M . E . Z . congratulated the chapter upon being in a position that evening to extend its hospitality to four very excellent working Alasons in the persons of Comps . Levander , Dewar , Thompson , and Lardner . This toast having becn enthusiastically drunk , each of thc visitors responded to the effect that their visit had been in every way agreeable to them ,

and that they were particularly struck with thc admirable working of Comp . Mander . " The Health' of the Past Principals" followed , coupled with the name of the I . P . P ., who received a Past Principal ' s jewel in recognition of his services . Comp . Mander , in his reply , briefl y expressed his acknowledgment for the hearty manner in which his health , in conjunction with that of his colleagues , had been drunk , and also for the gift of the jewel , which he should

always prize as a most interesting souvenir of his year of oflice . "The Second and Third Principals" followed . This toast having becn duly honoured , Comps . Moss and Davis responded . In giving "The Installing Principal , " the M . E . Z . personally thanked Comp . Robinson for the very excellent way in which hc had inducted him into the chair . Comp . Robinson having made a modest speech in response , "The Health of the S . E . and Treasurer" came

next in order . The First Principal , in the name of the chapter , thanked the two worthy companions who filled those important and onerous offices for thc manner in which they had discharged their duties during the past year . This pledge having been warmly received , Comps . Harfeld and Davage responded . "The Oilicers" followed , and this toast was acknowledged by Comps . Stewart , Ellborn , and Davis . Thc Janitor ' s toast , at a later hour , terminated the proceedings , which were throughout most enjoyable .

WHITEHAVEN . —Sun , Square , and Compasses Chapter ( No . 119 ) . —The quarterly convocation of this chapter was held in the Freemasons' Hall , Collegestreet , on Thursday evening , the 21 st inst . joining member , and who at once entered the chapter . In consequence of indisposition Bro . F . C . Bailey was unable to attend . The ceremony of exaltation then proceeded , and was performed in a most excellent and impressive style , each of the Principals going through the ceremony in the most perfect manner , and were well supported witn equal correctness by their ofiicers . At the conclusion of the exaltations the report of thc Committee appointed to

revise the bye-laws was then received and adopted by the companions . The chapter was then closed . The companions afterwards adjourned to the banqueting room for supper , after partaking of which the usual Royal Arch , Masonic , and loyal toasts were given and responded to with enthusiasm . This chapter may now be said to be in good working order , and bids fair to have a prosperous future before it .

LION AND LAMB LODGE ( No . 192 ) . —An emergency meeting of the above lodge was held on Thursday , the 21 st instl , at thc City Terminus Hotel , Cannonstreet . The brethren present were Bros . S . The petition of an applicant to the Board of Benevolence was signed by the W . AI . and brethren , and the applicant was relieved with thc sum of five guineas . The financial state of the lodge was then taken into consideration , the matter fully , discussed by the whole of the members present , the result being the Treasurer giving notice of motion , that the present subscription be increased from three to four guineas per annum , together with the re-adjustment of the visitors' fees .

After the minutes of the last meeting were duly read and confirmed , Mr . Robins , proposed by the W . M ., and seconded by the S . VV ., and Mr . Winkworth , proposed by Bro . Jenkins , and seconded by the I . P . M ., were balloted for , unanimously elected , and duly initiated into the mysteries of ancient Freemasonry by the VV . M ., Bro . Woodrow . The bye-laws were then read by the I . P . M ., and the lodge was closed , after which the brethren soon separated , as on this occasion there was no banquet .

FRANCIS BURDETT LODGE ( No . 150 .. ) . — This lodge met for the despatch of business at the Albany Hotel , Twickenham , on the gth inst . Among those present were Bros . Ashley , VV . M . ; T . C . Walls , P . P . G . S . B . Middlesex , S . W . ; Saunders , l . W . ; W . Wigginton , P . P . G . S . of VV . Middlesex , & c , ' Sec . ; the Rev . D'Orsey , Chap . ; VV . Taylor , I . P . M . ; and others . Bro . Briggs , Metropolitan Lodge , was a visitor .

The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed , Bro . Briggs was proposed as a joining member . Several communications- from absent brethren were then read . The sum of five guineas having been voted to Bro . VV . H . Saunders , P . M ., to head his list at one of the ensuing Masonic festivals , the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to refreshment . The usual toasts followed . Bro . Wigginton responded

on behalf of " The Provincial Grand Ofiicers . " " The Health of the VV . M . " was given by the I . P . M ., and duly acknowledged . " The Visitors " followed , and this toast having been warmly received , Bro . Briggs responded . "Thc Past Masters , " coupled with the name of llro . VV . Taylor , came next in order . Bro . There were thirty members and visitors present , and thc brethren dined together after the lodge at the Guildhall Tavern .

The lodge being opened the minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed . After which the VV . M . admirably went through the ceremonies of initiating Mr . Alfred Joseph Holland , and of raising Bros . Wm . Warner , C . VV . Bacon , and A . F . Mann in such a manner as to impress on those candidates the value and beauty of Masonry .

Tlie bye-laws of the lodge having been revised in Committee , were partly discussed in open lodge for confirmation , and thc lodge afterwards closed with harmony . The brethren then adjourned to supper , and upon the removal of the cloth the usual Masonic toasts were given , and duly acknowledged , and a very pleasant evening was passed in Masonry .

INSTRUCTION . PRINCE LEOPOLD LODGE ( No . 1445 ) . —The weekly meeting of this lodge was at Bro . Fromm ' s , The Moorgate , Finsbury-pavement , on Wednesday , the 20 th inst . Bro . VV . H . ' Myers , P . M ., Preceptor . Bro . S . Lore Green , P . M ., took the chair as W . M ., Bro . Partridge acting as S . W ., and Bro . J . Robson , J . W ., when the Third

Robinson for his services as Installing Officer was unanimously passed , and ordered to be entered on the minutes .

I he banquet whicli followed the proceedings was admirably served , and reflected great credit on the management . Upon the removal of the cloth the customary toasts received full justice . "The Health of the M . E . Z . " was proposed by the I . P . Z ., and Comp . Walls having replied , then gave "The Exaltee . " In his reply , Comp . Cleghorn expressed his high appreciation of the ceremony , and his favourable opinion of the masterly way in which it had been

performed by the Immediate Past Principal . The toast of "The Visitors " followed . In giving this toast the M . E . Z . congratulated the chapter upon being in a position that evening to extend its hospitality to four very excellent working Alasons in the persons of Comps . Levander , Dewar , Thompson , and Lardner . This toast having becn enthusiastically drunk , each of thc visitors responded to the effect that their visit had been in every way agreeable to them ,

and that they were particularly struck with thc admirable working of Comp . Mander . " The Health' of the Past Principals" followed , coupled with the name of the I . P . P ., who received a Past Principal ' s jewel in recognition of his services . Comp . Mander , in his reply , briefl y expressed his acknowledgment for the hearty manner in which his health , in conjunction with that of his colleagues , had been drunk , and also for the gift of the jewel , which he should

always prize as a most interesting souvenir of his year of oflice . "The Second and Third Principals" followed . This toast having becn duly honoured , Comps . Moss and Davis responded . In giving "The Installing Principal , " the M . E . Z . personally thanked Comp . Robinson for the very excellent way in which hc had inducted him into the chair . Comp . Robinson having made a modest speech in response , "The Health of the S . E . and Treasurer" came

next in order . The First Principal , in the name of the chapter , thanked the two worthy companions who filled those important and onerous offices for thc manner in which they had discharged their duties during the past year . This pledge having been warmly received , Comps . Harfeld and Davage responded . "The Oilicers" followed , and this toast was acknowledged by Comps . Stewart , Ellborn , and Davis . Thc Janitor ' s toast , at a later hour , terminated the proceedings , which were throughout most enjoyable .

At the conclusion of the exaltations the report of thc Committee appointed to

revise the bye-laws was then received and adopted by the companions . The chapter was then closed . The companions afterwards adjourned to the banqueting room for supper , after partaking of which the usual Royal Arch , Masonic , and loyal toasts were given and responded to with enthusiasm . This chapter may now be said to be in good working order , and bids fair to have a prosperous future before it .
