Masonic Recognition Extraordinary.

he at our lodge to-night . I am so sorry I cannot be there , " & c . The jj | age Rector heard what passed , and knowing that the two clerics were strangers , he took an early opportunity of saying to the S . V ., " How extraordinary that Mr . should have known you were a Mason ! " The oviraordinary recognition—as it seemed to be—so impressed the Rector

that he evidently pondered over it , for later in the day he again referred to it and expressed his wonderment that a Mason could be thus recognised before a word had been spoken . It needs only to be added that no sign had passed , but that the P . G . C , having heard of his Surrey brother ' s presence , needed no introduction before exhibiting that genial spirit which is characteristic of him .
