The " Imperial Window " has been fitted to some of the frames of the Liberal Club , Walbrook , with success for ventilation and purposes of cleaning .

Bro . C . E . Cruikshanks , whose recent recital of Dagonet ' s pathetic ballad , "Little Billy ' s Rose , " at Spitalfields Wesleyan Chapel , created such a sensation , read at the same place , on Tuesday evening last , the libretto of a new cantata , entitled the " Christian Martyrs , " by J . Guest , the composer of the popular " Mayflower . "

Bro . Cruikshanks was listened to throughout with the greatest attention ; his powerful and impressive rendering of the pottic portions of the work demanding and receiving enthusiastic recognition . The vocal and instrumental efforts of the choir ( of 200 voices ) and Organist were

loudly applauded . Bro . the Right Hon . Lord Ebrington , R . W . P . G . M . Devon , has , we understand , retired from his candidature for St . Ives , Cornwall , in favour of Sir Charless Reed .
