The lodge was opened in due form , and the minutes of the former meeting were read and confirmed . The ist Section of the Lecture was worked by Bro . Greenway , and the 2 nd Section by Bro . Hosegood . Bro . Scheu having offered himself as candidate , the ceremony of initiation was rehearsed . The VV . M . rose for the first time . Bro . Kelly , of the Harrow Lodge , was unanimously elected a

The lodge being opened , and the minutes of the previous meeting read and confirmed , the lodge was opened in the Second Degree , and the candidate , Bro . Dr . Thompson , was examined and entrusted . After opening in the Third Degree , the candidate was carefully conducted through the ceremony of raising , which is practised at this lodge strictly on the lines laid down by the Emulation Lodge of Improvement . The W . M . performed the ceremony so satisfactorily

that the brethren accorded him a hearty vote of thanks for his services during the evening . A ballot was taken for Bro . Rutland , which was unanimous in favour of his becoming a joining member . The members mustered from the northern and southern districts at Darlington Station about 11 a . m ., and were met by vehicles chartered by the Darlington fratres , in which they were conveyed to Fast Abbey , near

Richmond . Here they partook of an al fresco luncheon , and made a survey of the ruins of the old Pr ; emonstratensian Abbey of St . Agatha , which possesses some peculiar characteristics . Most of the party then walked along the picturesque banks of the river Swale , a noted trout stream , catching occasional glimpses on the way of the Castle of Richmond

with its noble keep dominating the ' old town . Arriving in Richmond , they made their way to the Masonic Hall , kindly placed at their disposal by the members of the Lennox Lodge , No . 123 , and here they formed the M . The members mustered from the northern and southern districts at Darlington Station about 11 a . m ., and were met by vehicles chartered by the Darlington fratres , in which they were conveyed to Fast Abbey , near

Richmond . Here they partook of an al fresco luncheon , and made a survey of the ruins of the old Pr ; emonstratensian Abbey of St . Agatha , which possesses some peculiar characteristics . Most of the party then walked along the picturesque banks of the river Swale , a noted trout stream , catching occasional glimpses on the way of the Castle of Richmond

with its noble keep dominating the ' old town . Arriving in Richmond , they made their way to the Masonic Hall , kindly placed at their disposal by the members of the Lennox Lodge , No . 123 , and here they formed the M .
