Their grand old lodge was well known for its Chanty and also as one of the most successful in the London district , among which it was also one of the oldest . They at Grand Lodge knew the strength and Charity of Woolwich Masons , and also of the many claims upon their funds in the good cause . Should he ever have a chance , or receive an invitation , he should be delighted to visit them at their hall at Plumstead , and he thanked them cordially for their hearty reception .

The installation meeting of the above powsrful and prosperous lodge , one of the strongest lodges in the strongest of the whole of the Metropolitan district , to wit , Woolwich and Plumstead , took place on Wednesday , the 21 st inst ., at Freemasons' Hall , Mount Pleasant , Plumstead , and was attended by a goodly muster of the members of the lodge and representatives from the other lodges of the district , from London and from the provinces , near and far .

intention of not only doing the heavy work of the lodge well , but attending to details , so that even the least might be , by its p'irfectness , as great an d abiding in its effects as the highest and most important ceremonies , and they might auguv from that a pleasant and perfect year of office for their W . M ., and of success and increased eclat for the lodge-, and he asked them to drink their esteemed VV . Master ' s health in bumpers filled to the brim . The toast which was received with much cheering , was drunk enthusiastically .
Bro . Pammant , in rising to . reply , was received with an ovation . He said he thanked them very much for the kind and cordial reception of the toast , and Bro . The ceremony having been concluded by a good rendering of the addresses , Bro . Porter was awarded a hearty vote of thanks for his services as Installing Officer , and he was jirescnted with a handsome and valuable Pist Master ' s jewel for services rendered the lodge during his year of office and to mark the esteem of the brethren . Charity was disbursed to an applicant , and the lodge was closed . The brethren then proceeded by special train to London , and banqueted at the Holborn Restaurant , the banquet being an excellent one .

They hid seen a specimen that afternuon ot his circful appreciation of the duties of his position , by the manner in which he had invested his officers , showing as it di d his , Bro . Pammant ' s ,
intention of not only doing the heavy work of the lodge well , but attending to details , so that even the least might be , by its p'irfectness , as great an d abiding in its effects as the highest and most important ceremonies , and they might auguv from that a pleasant and perfect year of office for their W . M ., and of success and increased eclat for the lodge-, and he asked them to drink their esteemed VV . Master ' s health in bumpers filled to the brim . The toast which was received with much cheering , was drunk enthusiastically .
Bro . Pammant , in rising to . reply , was received with an ovation . He said he thanked them very much for the kind and cordial reception of the toast , and Bro . Porter for the evident geniality and kindness with which he had proposn-l it . That day would be a red-letter day in his life that he should always renumber with pride and p leasure . It was now nine years ago that he first got a collar as a sub ordinate officer in that lodge , and he could faithfully say that from that time he had looked for . vard steadily to the goal in front of him . liro . Cook , in responding for " lhe Visitors , " congratulated the lodge upon having as its head one whom he bad known and respected as a man and Mason lor many years . As the Master of tl . c-ir neighbouring lodge , the Pattisun , it gave him unbuundu ! satisfaction to be present and he wished that Bru . Pammant might have a pleasant and prosperous year of office .

Several other of the visitors responded , and the toast of "The Installing Officer " gave Pro .
