Eng-., who had been assisting at a consecration in the building , entered the hall at the invitation of one or two of his old friends and was heartily receivedand his health was drunk .

, In the course of an eloquent speech , Bro . Tijou said he had had the honour to have assisted at the consecration of a new lodge that night , and in passing that hall he was invited by some old friends of his to enter , knowing the interest he ( Bro . Tijou ) took in Freemasonry . The heartiness of their reception was exceedingly gratifying to him as a member of Grand Lodge , and he was proud of the collar he had the honour to wear .

Their grand old lodge was well known for its Chanty and also as one of the most successful in the London district , among which it was also one of the oldest . They at Grand Lodge knew the strength and Charity of Woolwich Masons , and also of the many claims upon their funds in the good cause . Should he ever have a chance , or receive an invitation , he should be delighted to visit them at their hall at Plumstead , and he thanked them cordially for their hearty reception .

" The Initiates , " " The Visitors , " "The Officers , " and the Tyler'stoast concluded the proceedings , which were supplemented by some excellent singing by Miss Elsa Hope , Miss Flora Edwards , Bro . J . Ireland , Mr . J . Dickenson , and Mr . C . Narman . Bro . Hancock presided at the piano .

Dee Lodge , No . 1576 . The members of the above lodge assembled at the Union Hotel , Parkgate , Cheshire , rn Wednesday , lhe 14 th inst ., for the purpose of assisting at the annual installation ceremony . The W . M . elect , Bro . R . C . Davies , was officially installed by the retiring W . M ., Bro . F . V . Fearn , and the following officers were appointed and invested : Bros .

The banquet was then held , and a capital musical programme performed by the Chester Cathedral quartette party .

Nelson Lodge , No . 700 . The installation meeting of the above powsrful and prosperous lodge , one of the strongest lodges in the strongest of the whole of the Metropolitan district , to wit , Woolwich and Plumstead , took place on Wednesday , the 21 st inst ., at Freemasons' Hall , Mount Pleasant , Plumstead , and was attended by a goodly muster of the members of the lodge and representatives from the other lodges of the district , from London and from the provinces , near and far .

The lodge was opened by the W . M ., Bri . G . H . Porter , and the minutes having been read , Bro . H . Pammant , S . W . and W . M . elect , was presented to him to receive at his hands the benefit of installation , and in due form the candidate was installed and saluted . He invested his officers as follow si Bros . G . H . The ceremony having been concluded by a good rendering of the addresses , Bro . Porter was awarded a hearty vote of thanks for his services as Installing Officer , and he was jirescnted with a handsome and valuable Pist Master ' s jewel for services rendered the lodge during his year of office and to mark the esteem of the brethren . Charity was disbursed to an applicant , and the lodge was closed . The brethren then proceeded by special train to London , and banqueted at the Holborn Restaurant , the banquet being an excellent one .

" He slid t ! i : y hid that displaced a man and a Mason into the chair of their lodge who would bj an lion our to it , not ( nly on account of his perfect knowledge of the work , but from that Imuhomic that made his manner of ruling genial , brotnerly , and pleasant . They hid seen a specimen that afternuon ot his circful appreciation of the duties of his position , by the manner in which he had invested his officers , showing as it di d his , Bro . Pammant ' s ,

intention of not only doing the heavy work of the lodge well , but attending to details , so that even the least might be , by its p'irfectness , as great an d abiding in its effects as the highest and most important ceremonies , and they might auguv from that a pleasant and perfect year of office for their W . M ., and of success and increased eclat for the lodge-, and he asked them to drink their esteemed VV . Master ' s health in bumpers filled to the brim . The toast which was received with much cheering , was drunk enthusiastically .

Bro . Pammant , in rising to . reply , was received with an ovation . He said he thanked them very much for the kind and cordial reception of the toast , and Bro . Porter for the evident geniality and kindness with which he had proposn-l it . That day would be a red-letter day in his life that he should always renumber with pride and p leasure . It was now nine years ago that he first got a collar as a sub ordinate officer in that lodge , and he could faithfully say that from that time he had looked for . vard steadily to the goal in front of him . It looked at the time to be a long way off , he

( loiil . ted if ever he should reach it , but year by year the road lessened , not much the fust few , but in the latter ones it shone fair before him and now that day as he stood in tbnt magnificent hall and as the Master of their magnificent lodge , he fir It that his lal . uur in the pa't had been crowned with success and the goal of his Masonic ambition was leached , lie had been told that there was plenty of work beiore him and he was glad of it . Whether in regular lodge or in . an emergency one he should endeavour to be present and do his duty . If anyone doubted him he would say to them as Nathaniel said to Philip , " Come ami see . " I le then resumed his seat amid cheers .

liro . Cook , in responding for " lhe Visitors , " congratulated the lodge upon having as its head one whom he bad known and respected as a man and Mason lor many years . As the Master of tl . c-ir neighbouring lodge , the Pattisun , it gave him unbuundu ! satisfaction to be present and he wished that Bru . Pammant might have a pleasant and prosperous year of office .

Craft Masonry.

Several other of the visitors responded , and the toast of "The Installing Officer " gave Pro . Porter an opportunity of thanking the Past Masters , officers , and brethren for their kindness to him during his year of office . The other toasts were " The Initiates , " " The Past Masters of and belonging to the Lodge , " " The Officers , " and then the Tyler ' s toast concluded the proceedings , which were rendered more than ordinarily enjoyable by some line singing by Miss Nellie Roberts and Messrs . Hay and Cockburn . Bro . H . Roberts presided at the piano .

The whole proceedings , both in and out of lodge , were admirably conducted , and reflected credit on the executive .

After an excellent banquet , served under the personal supervision of Bro . Clemow , the usual toasts were brielly honoured , brevity being essential ojiing to the lateness of the hour ar . d the capital musical programme provided . 'The VV . M . first gave "The Oueen and the Craft" and " II . R . II . the Prince of Wales , M . W . G . M ., " which were both heartily honoured . liro . | as . Stephens , Dep . G . D . C , replying for " The Grand Officers , " expressed his pleasure at the privilege of responding for the distinguished brethren included in the toast , tur their heart and soul was in Masonry and they did the best they could to promote its best interests .

Eng-., who had been assisting at a consecration in the building , entered the hall at the invitation of one or two of his old friends and was heartily receivedand his health was drunk .

, In the course of an eloquent speech , Bro . Tijou said he had had the honour to have assisted at the consecration of a new lodge that night , and in passing that hall he was invited by some old friends of his to enter , knowing the interest he ( Bro . Tijou ) took in Freemasonry . The heartiness of their reception was exceedingly gratifying to him as a member of Grand Lodge , and he was proud of the collar he had the honour to wear .

Their grand old lodge was well known for its Chanty and also as one of the most successful in the London district , among which it was also one of the oldest . They at Grand Lodge knew the strength and Charity of Woolwich Masons , and also of the many claims upon their funds in the good cause . Should he ever have a chance , or receive an invitation , he should be delighted to visit them at their hall at Plumstead , and he thanked them cordially for their hearty reception .

The installation meeting of the above powsrful and prosperous lodge , one of the strongest lodges in the strongest of the whole of the Metropolitan district , to wit , Woolwich and Plumstead , took place on Wednesday , the 21 st inst ., at Freemasons' Hall , Mount Pleasant , Plumstead , and was attended by a goodly muster of the members of the lodge and representatives from the other lodges of the district , from London and from the provinces , near and far .

The ceremony having been concluded by a good rendering of the addresses , Bro . Porter was awarded a hearty vote of thanks for his services as Installing Officer , and he was jirescnted with a handsome and valuable Pist Master ' s jewel for services rendered the lodge during his year of office and to mark the esteem of the brethren . They hid seen a specimen that afternuon ot his circful appreciation of the duties of his position , by the manner in which he had invested his officers , showing as it di d his , Bro . Pammant ' s ,

intention of not only doing the heavy work of the lodge well , but attending to details , so that even the least might be , by its p'irfectness , as great an d abiding in its effects as the highest and most important ceremonies , and they might auguv from that a pleasant and perfect year of office for their W . M ., and of success and increased eclat for the lodge-, and he asked them to drink their esteemed VV . Master ' s health in bumpers filled to the brim . The toast which was received with much cheering , was drunk enthusiastically .

Bro . Pammant , in rising to . reply , was received with an ovation . He said he thanked them very much for the kind and cordial reception of the toast , and Bro . Porter for the evident geniality and kindness with which he had proposn-l it . That day would be a red-letter day in his life that he should always renumber with pride and p leasure . It was now nine years ago that he first got a collar as a sub ordinate officer in that lodge , and he could faithfully say that from that time he had looked for . vard steadily to the goal in front of him . Whether in regular lodge or in . an emergency one he should endeavour to be present and do his duty . If anyone doubted him he would say to them as Nathaniel said to Philip , " Come ami see . liro . Cook , in responding for " lhe Visitors , " congratulated the lodge upon having as its head one whom he bad known and respected as a man and Mason lor many years . As the Master of tl . c-ir neighbouring lodge , the Pattisun , it gave him unbuundu ! satisfaction to be present and he wished that Bru . Pammant might have a pleasant and prosperous year of office .

Several other of the visitors responded , and the toast of "The Installing Officer " gave Pro . Porter an opportunity of thanking the Past Masters , officers , and brethren for their kindness to him during his year of office .
