The WoRSiiiri'UL M ASTUI * . expressed his thanks to the Consecrating Officers for coming such a long distance to perform the ceremony ; and , on the motion of the S . W ., they were unanimously elected honorary members of the lodge , and each returned thanks in appropriate terms .

A hearty vote of thanks to Bro . Dale , J . W ., for the many presents he had made to the new lodge , was carried unanimously , and the same to Bro . Clarke , J . O ., for the work he had done in preparing the lodge and banqueting rooms for the occasion . The appointment of a Permanent Committee and propositions for several candidates terminated the proceedings , and the lodge was closed .

An excellent banquet was afterwards served in the dining room adjoining the hall , and the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured . The proceedings were enlivened by the band of the Royal Irish Regiment , which played a nice selection of music during the dinner , and the party did not break up until a late hour , when the brethren accompanied the D . D . G . M . to the railway station to bid him farewell on his return to Bombay by the Calcutta mail .

John Hervey Lodge , No . 1260 . On Wednesday , the 14 th inst ., the usual meeting of this lodge was held at Freemasons' Hall , when Bro . J . R . Reep presided . The attendance , considering the time of the year , was a large one , including as it did several visitors . The business , which was ably carried through , consisted of raising Bro . Sommerfield , and also by special lequest of the W . M . Crichton Lodge , No . 1 G 41 , Bro . Goodwin , a member of that lodge ,

who is ahnut leaving this country for Japan , to the Third Degree , and of initiating Mr . "William C . Hall into the mysteries and privileges of the Order . Thc Wardens' chairs , during boih the ceremonies and throughout the evening , were filled by Past Masters , of whom no l < ss than six evirced their interest in the proceedings by being present , though like the Wardens , resident at the seaside and elsewhere for vacation purposes . The business ro < -cluded with two important alterations in the by-laws of the lodge , both oi which wen- carried . The lodge was then closed .

The following day , Thursday , the 15 th inst ., the customary summer outing of the lodge was In Id , the route chosen being a river trip from Windsor toHampton Court . Punctually at 10 . 50 a . m . the brethren and their Masonic visitors , 33 in the aggregate , left Watei loo in specially reserved first-class saloon carriages , and reached Windsor at 12 o ' clrck . Here Messrs . Immesh and Co ' s splendid electric launch , Viscountess Bury , received the party on board , and a most agreeable run down the river was made , Ihe weather being perfect , and Old Thames putting on his usual festive look , especially

at Staines , where the regatta was in full progress , as the yacht slowly passed down stream . Hampton Court was reached about five o ' clock , and here a move was made under the direction of the VV . M ., to the River Garden , where a group of the brethren and other visitors was formed , Bro . Potter , P . M ., being present with his camera ( as on many previous occasions ) to photograph the party , so as , later on , to offer each one with an interesting memento of the trip in the shape of a copy of the negative . At six

o ' clock the brethren ( at this time numbering 3 < 3 ) sat down to a recherche banquet at the Mitre Hotel , Bro . Sadler appearing to have lost none of his cunning as a chef and host , but almost to have surpassed himself , the viands and wines being of the choicest quality , and the waiting excellent . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts w ere proposed and honoured , after which " The Healths of the Initiate and Visitors " were proposed and briefly responded to , as time was getting short and moving swiftly by .

Thc return journey was made by the S . 50 train , landing the brethren at Waterloo at 9 . 30 , after having passed a most enjoyable day , without a single hitch or incident to mar the happiness and comfort of all who were able to attend .

Lodge Dramatic , No . 571 . An emergency meeting of this lodge was held at Glasgow , on Thursday , the istfc inst ., Bro . E . T . de Banzie , R . W . M ., being in the chair . After the work of the First Degree , performed on a candidate by Bro . W . M'Kean , I . P . M ., the R . W . M . informed the members that that day they were honoured by the presence of one no less distinguished in the Masonic Fraternity than in the theatrical profession , namely , Bro . Edward Terry , 29 , Past Grand Treasurer of England . In his own art he stood

alone , whether playing " Iserry" or the inimitable "Captain Ginger . " In Barnes , where liro , Terry resided , his name was a hcusehold word , and many poor people there and elsewhere know the extent of his goodness . He is alto one of the local Board ol Guardians , ln fact , he had risen to gieat eminence socially , artistically , municipallyi and Masonically , and thc lodge , being proud to own him as an old honorary member , welcomed hiin back to the lodge and to Glasgow . Bro . Terry thanked thc R . W . M . and the lodge for his reception . As he was equally

proud of being a member of this lodge , hc was glad to see the lodge in better premises than when hc last visited it . Since last visit he had been to Australia , and was very pleased to see how many lodges there , as also in India and Ceylon , were working and prospering under the Scutch Constitution . The ollice of Grand Treasurer of Eng land was the only elective ollice in Grand Lodge , and he was also proud of having held t '" unique position in Masonry . He concluded with conveying the fraternal greetings fro " the Grand Lodge of England .
