Sincerity Lodge , No , 1019 . ¦ There was a large and influential gathering at the Town Hall . Wakefield , on the 2 ist inst ., the occasion being the formal installation of Bro . Viscount Milton , the M . P . for the city , as W . M . of the above lodge . The ceremony took place at the Town Hall instead of at the lodge room in Zetland-street , in consequence of an unusually large number of members of the Craft having accepted invitations to be present , and it was found that the accommodation at the lodge would be adequate . The proceedings commenced at five o ' clock in the Council Chamber with the formal installation . Lord Milton is the 35 th W . M . installed since the foundation of the Iodff < - in 1 S 64 .
After the ceremony the company , which numbered about no , adjourned to the banquetting chamber , where a repast was served up by Bro . J . J . Martin , of the Bull Hotel . Major Walls gave a notice of motion to vote the sum of 15 guineas to the Stewards ' list , Communications for non-attendance having been read , the lodge was closed , and adjourned till the first Tuesday in February next . A banquet followed . Upon the removal of the cloth the usual toasts were duly submitted and responded to .
The l . P . M . gave " The Health of the W . M . " He said that it was the W . M . ' s last night of presiding at the banquet table , and , consequently , it was his ( the speaker ' s ) last opportunity of addressing the brethren as the l . P . M . The W . M . 's year had , on the whole , been a fairly prosperous one , and he had acquitted himself well , both in and out of the lodge . As a Past Master he hoped that Bro . Chisholm would for many years continue to attend the meetings of No . 13 S 1 , and he felt confident that the brethren would agree with him in that respect . The W . M . having replied , the toast of "The Master elect" followed .
Bro . Davies , in his reply , thanked the brethren for the dual honour that they had conferred upon him that night—first , in electing him as their Master ; and , secondly , in electing him to represent the Old People ' s Institution as a Steward . It was unanimously resolved that the usual Cinderella ball take place at the Freemasons' Tavern .

M . biitfly replied , and in the course of his speech he touched upan the resolution that had been passed that evening as to the alteration of the date of installation . He thought that it was an excellent change , and likely to be the means of securing a larger attendance than the lodge had had in the past . The toast of " The Visitors " followed , and was duly acknowledged .
In submitting the toast of" The Past Masters , " the W . M . spoke in high terms of the services rendered by them all . He particularly mentioned the names of Bros . Evans and Simpson , the latter of whom was so genial and amusing in his utterances at the banqueting table . A member of the lodge had once distinguished him as the Demosthenes of the Old Bailey , and he ( the . W . M . ) agreed that the nam J was appropriate , because the speeches of Bro .
