The Provincial Grand Master , in response , said he was utterly at a loss to express the gratification he felt at the very complimentary manner in which the toast had been given

How was it possible , after a long absence from the county , to find phrases generous enough to express his pleasure at the way they had received the toast , and the hearty welcome they had given him ? It was with intense pleasure that he found himself once more in the good old county . Although he must appear to many of them as a stranger , he prophesied that at no very distant date they

would all be very good friends . It had been said that once a Mason , always a Mason ; and he was under the impression that he could claim a position in Masonry which had not been conferred upon him , and one which would not be coveted—it was that he was the senior Mason within the borders of the province .
