As the name bespeaks , the opera is founded on a German story , — -the libretto being by Fitzball , and of that the less that is said the better . The music by Henry Smart is light , graceful and spirited , ancl owing to that and the excellence with which Br . Buckstone put ' it upon the stage it met with a complete success .
A now play by . Mr . Saunders , entitled , "Love ' s Martyrdom , " was produced with a fair success ; the principal characters being sustained b y Miss Helen Faucitt and Mr . Barry Sullivan . CHARLES Fox . —This brother , who has been long well known in the Craft , expired on . the 11 th June , at the Stafford Arms , Pimlico—of which he had been the landlord for some years past ~ at the age of 60 . Br . Fox was initiated by Br . Hardy at bunilerland , about the year 1825 , and continued a subscribing member whilst remaining in that portion of the country . Br .
