And , yet again , the numerical value of the Hebrew word for tassel , ftW ( tzitzith ) is six hundred , which , together with the eight threads and the five knots , gives six hundred and thirteen , the number of the precepts of the Law . * The following was the prayer used when

the " taph "t was invested with the tassels : — " Blessed art Thou , 0 Lord , King of the Universe , Who hast sanctified us with Thy commandments , and enjoined us to array ourselves with tassels . "
