On the removal of the cloth , the usual loyal toasts were given and responded to , after which Bro . Gillies , in an able speech , proposed the toast of the evening . This having been heartily responded to , the chairman , after a few felicitous remarks , presented Bro . Dalveen with an elegant silver tea and coffee set
and salver—the latter bearing the following inscription : — " Presented to Bro . Neil B . Dalveen , with a tea and coffee service , by members of the Lodge ' St . George , 333 , ' as a mark of respect and esteem , for his unwearied exertions on its behalf , during the three years he held the chair as R . W . M . Glasgow , Oct . 1 st , 1858 . " Appropriate toasts , songs , and sentiments , served to enliven and make the time fly till a seasonable hour , when the party separated , declaring themselves to have enjoyed an evening which they will long remember .
