Crew as usual eloquently responded to that of " The Charities , "

while all united in a cordial appreciation of the efficient services of the Dir . of Govs ., Bro . W . 1 'aas , P . M ., who was indefatigahle in his efforts ( which were in every respect successful ) to maintain order , aud to promote the comfort and enjoyment of the assembled Brethren .

UNITED MAHKEK ; - ' LODGI ' , ( No . 33 ) . —Tho installation meeting of this Lodge ivas helcl on Wednesday , January 19 th , at Bro . Harris ' s , the Three Tuns Tavern , Borough . Bro . T . B . Diplock , W . M ., having opened the Lodge in due form , proceeded to the business of the evening , ivhich consisted of a raising and an initiation . The ceremonies being concluded , the chair was taken by Bro . C . C . Gibbs , and Bro . Diplock introduced the W . M . elect , Bro . Thomas Cogclen , for installation , the ceremony beingwell performed . The following Brethren were appointed to office , Bro . PhiliJagelsS . W . ; Bro . Thomas JohnsJ . W . Bro . J . W . D S . D . Bro

M . proposed "The health of the W . U . , " in which he alluded to the praise due to Bro . Cogden , on account of his judicious selection of officers , also the unanimity and brotherly feeling which prevails among the Brethren in their several

appointments . The W . M ., in reply , assured the Brethren from the high position he HOAV occupied as Master of the Lodge , his utmost endeavours would be exercised to prove his efficiency in tho discharge of tho duties devolved on him , and urgently pressed on his officers to co-operate ivith him in the working of the Lodge , that ifc might not only redound credit to thorn individually , but to the honour of the

Lodge , so that No . 33 might indeed be second to none in the Craft . The " W . M . thou 'proposed the health of the Visitors , Bvo . Hayv-itli , of No . 15 ; Bro . Trebeck , P .
