G . Treasurer ' s accounts for the past year were then read and conlirined , and Bro . S . E . Taylor having been unanimously re-elected Prov . G-. Treasurer for the ensuing year , suitably returned thanks for the renewed mark of confidence . The R . AV . D . Prov . G . M . then proceeded to appoint and invest his Prov . M . said , that ho had experienced much inconvenience from the circumstance of somo of tho Lodges having adopted a course of proceeding ivhich he had before taken an opportuuit y of deprecating in all cases when it could be possibly avoided ; viz .. that of reelecting tbeir AA . M . It being an olcl established custom in this province that none but Past Masters should bo appointed to Prov . Grand Offices , tho course alluded to was the means of preventing many deserving Brethren from arriving afc that distinction as early as they should ; and iu more than one of tho Lodges there were no Past Masters who had not already attained the purple .
